Abstract
A downhole tool having a mandrel made of composite material, a fingered member disposed around the mandrel, and a first conical member also disposed around the mandrel. There is an insert positioned proximate to the fingered member and the first conical member, and in engagement with an end of the fingered member. The insert has a circular body, a first end, a second end, and a helical winding groove formed in the circular body between the first end and the second end.
