Abstract
According to one embodiment, an active material including a composite oxide is provided. The composite oxide is represented by a general formula LiM1TiM2O. Here, M1 includes at least one selected from the group consisting of Na, K, and Cs. M2 includes at least one selected from the group consisting of Zr, Sn, V, Nb, Ta, Mo, W, Fe, Co, Mn, Ni, and Al. x satisfies 0≤x<18. y satisfies 0<y<4. z satisfies 0<z<4. δ satisfies −0.3≤δ≤0.3.
