Abstract

The present invention relates to a speaker device () having a first diaphragm () and a second diaphragm (). A first magnet () is mounted to the first diaphragm () and a second magnet () is mounted to the second diaphragm (). The first magnet () is a first electromagnet having a first coil () and a power source driver is provided for supplying an electrical drive signal to the first coil () to establish said first magnetic field. The first and second magnets () are arranged to generate first and second interacting magnetic fields which drive the first and second diaphragms (). The invention also relates to a speaker device () in which the second diaphragm () is replaced with a fixed back plate (). The present invention also relates to a speaker assembly () made up of an array of the speaker devices (). The speaker device () can be used in a motor vehicle.
