Abstract

A downhole tool for creation of an annular seal in a well and a method of cementing a casing in a well, wherein tool and method make use of an expansion cone. The expansion cone is driven through a portion of the tool having a sealing element on the wellbore side so that the portion is expanded and the sealing element brought into contact with the wellbore. A force multiplier is used to increase the force exerted on the expansion cone by fluid pressure.
