Abstract

An endorectal coil () includes a tube (), a spreader (), and one or more electrically conductive elements (). The tube () is configured for insertion into the rectum (). The spreader () is configured to be positioned at a distal end of the tube () and mechanically spread to compress surrounding tissue after the tube () is inserted. The one or more electrically conductive elements () are tuned to receive magnetic resonance data disposed on at least one of the tube (), the spreader (), and adjacent the tube and spreader.
