Abstract
A bumper beam is comprised of a hat-shaped profile () with a cover (). The cover faces outward from the vehicle and has vertical depressions () at the locations of the fastening portions () of the bumper beam, as well as horizontal depressions between said fastening portions. The sides () of the hat-shaped profile have depressions directed in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle.
