A sensor system and method for determining the vertical distance between a location (L) in a hydrocarbon reservoir (R) in a subterranean formation (F) and the free water level (FWL) in said reservoir. A sensor assembly ('″) is configured for installation at a location (L) in a reservoir and comprises at least one sensor () in contact with or at least partly embedded in a porous material (). At last a portion of the porous material comprises pores having hydrophilic surfaces, and the sensor is configured for measuring the water content in the porous material. Means are provided for determining the water saturation (S) of the porous material and for estimating a pressure difference (P) between the hydrocarbon pressure and the water pressure.

Sensor assembly and system, and a method of determining the free water level in a hydrocarbon reservoir

An electromagnetic flowmeter and a method for measuring a property of a fluid composition are provided. The electromagnetic flowmeter includes a first electric conductor with first and second ends, arranged inside a fluid conduit carrying a fluid composition comprising hydrocarbons, an RF electric signal source, and a first dual signal detector including first and second input ports. The first terminal of the electric signal source is connected to the first end of the first electric conductor and arranged to induce an RF electromagnetic wave in the fluid conduit by supplying an input electric signal to the first end of the first electric conductor. The first and second ports of the signal detector are connected to the first and second ends of the first electric conductor, respectively.

Electromagnetic multiphase flowmeter

Wireless downhole sensor technology is being deployed in oil and gas wells. System components are inductively coupled, which enables remote placement of apparatus on the outside of wellbore conduit without the need for any wired connection. These systems make use of a pair of conductive elements that need to be aligned in the well. Embodiments of the present invention provide techniques to correctly space out the wellbore completion string so that the downhole conductive elements will be properly aligned and within proximity to establish wireless connectivity, as the wellbore completion string is set and the tubing hanger is landed inside the wellhead housing of the well.

Method and system for alignment of a wellbore completion

A leakage prevention module arranged to prevent fluid leakage from a tube connected apparatus arranged in the leakage prevention module, including a fluid tight trough including a drain in fluid connection with a drainage connection arranged to be connected to a drain tube, a wall with a recess where a lower end of the wall is fluid-tight fixed to the fluid tight trough such that the recess faces away from the drain. A first internal drain tube with a first end terminated in the recess and arranged to be connected to a drain tube from an apparatus and a second end in fluid connection with the drainage connection, a first feedthrough in the wall, a termination module arranged in the recess, where the termination module is arranged for terminating an inlet tube led in through the first feedthrough and further includes a first outlet arranged to be connected to a first supply tube to the apparatus.

A method for in-situ determination of a wellbore formation pressure through a layer of cement, the method includes detecting an output pressure signal from a pressure sensor disposed in a housing in the cement outside a wellbore casing; detecting a first temperature signal from a first temperature sensor disposed in the housing; and calculating a temperature compensated output pressure signal based on the output pressure signal and the first temperature signal.

A Wellbore stress meter system and method for determining wellbore formation instability, comprising a first load cell, a first pressure sensor with a pressure output signal, a wireless communication system, a cable, and a surface device, said first load cell comprises; a second pressure sensor with a stress output signal, a cell element comprising a fluid, a first interface element in a first end of said first load cell with fluidly separated first and second surfaces wherein said first surface is in fluid communication with said fluid, and said first interface element moves relative said cell element as a function of a force applied on said first surface, and compresses said fluid acting on said second pressure sensor.

A pressure gauge system and a method for in-situ determination of a wellbore formation pressure through a layer of cement, comprising; a housing arranged to be permanently installed in said cement on the outside of a wellbore casing, comprising; a pressure transfer means between a first oil filled chamber and a pressure sensor, to isolate said pressure sensor from said oil filled chamber, and a pressure permeable filter port in hydrostatic connectivity with said first oil filled chamber, and a porous string extending from said filter port, said string has a higher porosity and a higher hydrostatic connectivity than said cement for said formation fluid, and is arranged to transfer said formation fluid when it is embedded in said cement.

A pressure gauge system and a method for in-situ determination of a wellbore formation pressure through a layer of cement, where the pressure gauge system comprises: a housing arranged to be permanently installed in the cement on the outside of a wellbore casing, wherein said housing comprises a pressure sensor with an output pressure signal, wherein: the pressure gauge system further comprises: a first temperature sensor with a first temperature signal, a second temperature sensor with a second temperature signal; and a computer implemented compensation means arranged to receive the pressure signal, the first and second temperature signals, and calculate a temperature compensated output pressure signal.

An apparatus for storing cable along a tubular in a wellbore using a first retainer for attachment to the tubular at a first location and a second retainer for attachment to the tubular at a second location. Each retainer is constructed and arranged to reverse the direction of the cable and to at least partially retain the cable due to elastic forces therein. In one embodiment, the cable is formed into a plurality of loops, each having an upper end retained by the first retainer and a lower end retained by the second retainer.
