Provided relates to the field of cytometry, specifically to flow cytometric methods and kits for improved diagnosis, prognosis and monitoring of tumors and other lesions involving immune cell infiltration. Further provided are embodiments of the subject matter which relate to compositions and methods providing high resolution quantitative means for immunophenotyping and immune modeling, and for identification of disease prognostic and therapy predictive biomarkers.

Cytometric assays

A method of treating cancer in an immune-privileged site of a subject in need thereof is provided. The method comprises systemically administering to an area outside the immune-privileged site of the subject, a therapeutically effective amount of naive, viable cells of a tumor of the subject, the tumor being in the immune-privileged site so as to generate an immune response in the subject, thereby treating the cancer in the immune-privileged site of the subject.

Methods of treating tumors in immune-privileged sites

Method and composition suitable for administering by direct convective interstitial infusion are disclosed. The method comprises: placing at least one direct convective interstitial infusion catheter in contact with the tissue, and pressuring the composition through the catheter. The composition is in a liquefied form having a viscosity above a predetermined value. The predetermined value is selected so as to improve infusion of the compositions into interstitial volumes of the tissue, while minimizing backflow of the compositions along an outer wall of the catheter or leakage into low resistance paths. It is demonstrated that high viscosity results in higher treatment efficiency.
