An apparatus for dermal treatment of an active substance having certain physical properties having a flexible, wearable patch conformable to the contour of a skin surface and having: a first electrode adapted to communicate the active substance into the skin by application of an electrical current on the skin surface, a second electrode capable of closing an electrical circuit with the skin surface, a power source for providing a current and voltage connected through a conductive media to the first and second electrode, and an apparatus for substantially controlling penetration depth of the active substance by selecting at least one variable from a plurality of variables.

Device and method for controlled delivery of active substance into the skin

The present invention provides a device and kit and method of use thereof for wound treatment of a subject. The device may include an electrically operated patch or other means of delivery of electrical current and a connected moist surface. Optionally, the device may include a composition comprising an active substance useful in wound treatment. Preferably, the means of delivery of electrical current includes a power source and a plurality of electrodes disposed in a suitable conformation on a base substrate layer, which readily facilitates electrical contact with the body area of the subject. Preferably, the kit may include a means of delivery of electrical current and a moist surface provided as separate components. The present invention further provides a thin and flexible device for galvanic treatment to treat wounds with electrical stimulation. Preferably, the device is made using a printing technique.

Still further the present invention provides methods of production of a powerposer and an active or battery assisted RFID transponder comprising a powerposer.

A method of forming an electrochemical cell is disclosed. The method comprises contacting a negative pole layer and a positive pole layer one with the other or with an optional layer interposed therebetween. An adhesive bandage is provided. Furthermore, the present invention provides an adhesive bandage with a display, the display being for displaying a skin condition value and for increasing an acceptability of use of the adhesive bandage by the individual when powered.

The invention is generally directed to a kit and patch for transdermal or intradermal delivery of at least one substance into the skin. The kit includes a dermal patch having an electrochemical cell with two electrodes and a retainer for retaining a conductive fluid which further includes an active substance. The conductive fluid can be deposited on at least one of the two electrodes. Alternatively, the conductive fluid can be applied topically to the skin.

Preferably, the stimulating device is an iontophoretic device, or an electrical stimulation device, such as, but not limited to TENS, IFC and GC devices or a combination thereof. The present invention also provides a method of using such an apparatus for enhancing skin, muscle and nerve stimulation. Furthermore, the present invention provides a method of use of such an apparatus for enhancing controlled delivery of an active substance.

A radio frequency transponder includes at least one battery, which is coupled to provide electrical power for operating the transponder and at least one antenna, which is configured to receive and backscatter RF interrogation radiation from an interrogation device. An integrated circuit is arranged to store a code including information and, powered only with energy provided by the battery, to vary a radiation characteristic of the antenna responsively to the code so as to modulate the information onto the backscattered radiation.

Kit, device and method for controlled delivery of oxidizing agent into the skin

The present invention is of an electrode comprising an electrode substrate, wherein the electrode substrate has an electrode side and a back side; a conductive material layer disposed on the back side of the electrode substrate; and an insoluble electroactive material disposed on the electrode side of the electrode substrate. The electrode substrate can be a conductive substrate or a non-conductive substrate. In an embodiment wherein the substrate is a non-conductive substrate, the electrode can include vias which extend from the electrode substrate backside to the electrode side of the substrate. In some embodiments, the electroactive material is zinc and the conductive material is silver. The present invention provides an electrode with improved current distribution and high capacity, which can provide higher current and/or higher voltage. In addition, the present invention provides a dermal patch, which includes a higher powered, high capacity electrode with uniform current distribution. Still further the present invention provides methods of making the electrode and of attaching the electrode to a power source.

A flexible thin layer open liquid state electrochemical cell which can be used as a primary or rechargeable power supply for various miniaturized and portable electrically powered devices of compact design. The cell includes a wet electrolyte, yet maintains a fexible, thin and open configuration, thus devoid of accumulation of gases upon storage. The cell comprising a first layer of insoluble negative pole, a second layer of insoluble positive pole and a third layer of aqueous electrolyte, the third layer being disposed between the first and second layers and including a deliquescent material for keeping the open cell wet at all times; an electroactive soluble material for obtaining required ionic conductivity; and, a watersoluble polymer for obtaining a required viscosity for adhering the first and second layers to the third layer. The electrochemical cell of the present invention is preferably produced using a suitable printing technology.
