The present disclosure provides systems, apparatuses and methods that include a catheter configured to be inserted into an intra-body cavity of a patient. An ultrasonic transducer array including a plurality of multi-frequency ultrasonic transducers may be arranged on the catheter. Each of the plurality of multi-frequency ultrasonic transducers may be configured to transmit a wide beam ultrasonic signal and a narrow beam ultrasound signal, and may further be configured to receive a wide beam echo signal and narrow beam echo signal. A processor may be configured to detect free space of the intra-body cavity by processing the wide beam echo signals and the narrow beam echo signals.

Multi-frequency mapping catheter and method of mapping

Automatic mapping of flow parameters in a ultrasound diagnostic imaging system including the steps of: selecting a region of interest (ROI), transmitting ultrasound signals along at least one line traversing blood vessels in the ROI, applying a train of pulses along each of said at least one line during a heart cycle, generating a spectral density function as a function time, displaying selected blood flow characteristics determined from said spectral density function.

Mapping of flow parameters

Automatic mapping of flow parameters in a color Doppler ultrasound diagnostic imaging system including the steps of selecting a region of interest (ROI), transmitting ultrasound signals along a plurality of lines traversing the ROI, applying a train of Doppler pulses along each of said lines through blood vessels traversed by said lines during a heart cycle and displaying selected blood flow characteristics in a plurality of colors and preventing misalignment between the sector scan image and the Doppler image by gradually generating both images simultaneously to provide a color flow parameters image superimposed on a two dimensional gray scale image.
