A light emitting device including an emissive material comprising quantum dots is disclosed. In one embodiment, the device includes a cathode, a layer comprising a material capable of transporting and injection electrons comprising an inorganic material, an emissive layer comprising quantum dots, a layer comprising a material capable of transporting holes, a layer comprising a hole injection material, and an anode. In certain embodiments, the hole injection material can be a p-type doped hole transport material. In certain preferred embodiments, quantum dots comprise semiconductor nanocrystals. In another aspect of the invention, there is provided a light emitting device wherein the device has an initial turn-on voltage that is not greater than 1240/&#x3bb;, wherein &#x3bb; represents the wavelength (nm) of light emitted by the emissive layer. Other light emitting devices and a method are disclosed.

Light-emitting device including quantum dots

A method of making a device comprises forming a layer comprising quantum dots over a substrate including a first electrode, fixing the layer comprising quantum dots formed over the substrate, and exposing at least a portion of, and preferably all, exposed surfaces of the fixed layer comprising quantum dots to small molecules. The layer comprising quantum dots can be preferably fixed in the absence or substantial absence of oxygen. Also disclosed is a method of making a device comprises forming a layer comprising quantum dots over a substrate including a first electrode, exposing the layer comprising quantum dots to small molecules and light flux. Also disclosed is a method of making a film including a layer comprising quantum dots, the method comprising forming a layer comprising quantum dots over a carrier substrate, fixing the layer comprising quantum dots formed over the carrier substrate, and exposing at least a portion of, and preferably all, exposed surfaces of the fixed layer comprising quantum dots to small molecules. The layer comprising quantum dots can be preferably fixed in the absence or substantial absence of oxygen. Also disclosed is a method of preparing a device component including a layer comprising quantum dots, the method comprising forming a layer comprising quantum dots over a layer comprising a charge transport material, exposing the layer comprising quantum dots to small molecules and light flux. The present invention relates to organic light emitting devices (OLEDs) comprising an electroluminescent material layer comprising a mixture of at least two materials having different electron and hole transport capacities, and an electron transport layer comprising a triazine. Display devices comprising the OLEDs are also disclosed.

Organic light emitting devices

A white organic light emitting device includes an anode; a cathode; and a light emitting region comprising one or more phosphorescent materials that emit red light, one or more phosphorescent materials that emit green light, and one or more fluorescent materials that emit blue light.

A display device comprises an anode, a cathode, and a luminescent region disposed between the anode and the cathode, wherein the anode comprises a metal-organic mixed layer operatively combined with an electron-accepting material. An anode may comprise a mixture of a metal-organic mixed layer and an electron-accepting material within a single layer of the anode. Alternatively, the anode may have a multilayer configuration comprising a metal-organic mixed layer and a buffer layer adjacent the metal-organic mixed layer, wherein the buffer layer comprises an electron-accepting material and optionally a hole transport material.

Display device with metal-organic mixed layer anodes

A display device comprising a light-absorbing layer comprising metal nanoparticles in a matrix material. Suitable matrix materials include organic materials, inorganic materials, polymeric materials, and combinations thereof. The metal nanoparticles may have various regular or irregular shapes and/or two-dimensional or three-dimensional structures. The metal nanoparticles may have a particle size of from about 2 to about 20 nm. In embodiments, the particle size distribution of the nanoparticles does not exceed +/&#x2212;75%. The light-absorbing layer may have a multiple layer configuration comprising 2 or more individual light-absorbing layers. The light-absorbing layer(s) reduces the reflection of ambient light in a display device.

Display devices with light absorbing metal nanoparticle layers

A display device comprising a thin metal-organic mixed layer (MOML) comprising a metal (containing material) and an organic material, and having a thickness of less than 175 nm. A thin metal-organic mixed layer may be of a single or multi-layer configuration. The percent reflectance of a device may be controlled by varying the thickness of the MOML(s) and the metal component and concentration thereof in the MOML(s).
