A brake control system for issuing an early warning about a malfunction of a brake of a vehicle, in which the brake is configured to receive a brake signal and to perform a braking process after receiving the brake signal. The vehicle includes a sensor to generate sensor data, indicative of an actuation force of the brake. The brake control system includes a reception module to receive the brake signal and the sensor data, and by a processing module to monitor the sensor data during subsequent stages of the braking process, to detect, based on the monitored sensor data, a potential malfunction of the brake, and to issue a warning signal if the potential malfunction is detected.

A system for automatically stopping an autonomous vehicle, in which the autonomous vehicle includes a primary brake and a secondary brake controlled by least one control module or different control modules. The system includes: an error detection module configured to detect an error in the control of the primary brake or the secondary brake by the one control module or the different control modules; and a supplemental control module configured, upon a detected error by the error module, to cause a stop of the autonomous vehicle using the primary brake or the secondary brake.

A lamp includes a discharge vessel. Tungsten electrodes extend into the discharge vessel. An ionizable fill is sealed within the vessel. The fill includes a buffer gas and a halide component that includes a rare earth halide. A source of oxygen which includes a lanthanide oxide is present in the discharge vessel. The source of oxygen provides oxygen for a regenerative cycle which reduces blackening of the lamp walls by tungsten from the electrodes.

An electrodeless fluorescent reflector lamp has a discharge vessel containing a fill, a solenoid in a reentrant and indium on the inner wall of the vessel acting as a primary amalgam. A secondary amalgam of indium may be provided on the reentrant. The primary amalgam is preferably under an insulative skirt. The vessel has a light reflective coating on the inner wall under the skirt. The exhaust tube is tipped off at the proximal end of the reentrant or is omitted, the vessel being tipped off at the distal end of the reentrant.

An electrodeless fluorescent lamp comprises a discharge vessel (10) having a re-entrant portion (11) for housing a solenoid (12) for initiating a discharge in the vessel by means of an RF electromagnetic field. A primary amalgam (18) for releasing mercury vapor is placed at the tip of an exhaust tube (17) where the primary amalgam can be maintained at a suitable temperature for controlling the mercury vapor pressure. The primary amalgam does not provide rapid run-up of light output. To provide rapid run-up of light output a pied of indium (20,30) is placed on the re-entrant at a position where it is rapidly heated by the discharge. The indium may be coated with the layers of a coating including phosphor.

The invention provides a method for preparing sustained release tablets comprising a hydrophilic polymer matrix, which amounts to at least 10% by weight of the composition, consisting of a 5:1-1:5 weight to weight ratio mixture of a VP-VA copolymer and of an acrylic acid homopolymer, cross-linked with polyallyl saccharose. The method of manufacturing of sustained release tablets according to the invention can be accomplished in two ways: either by manufacturing the granulate containing the active ingredient, or by supplementing the matrix granulate containing no active ingredient with the suitable amount of the active ingredient. The latter variant involves the advantage of a possible separation of large-scale manufacturing of pharmacons and that of a generally applicable retardizing system, the composition and, consequently, the retardizing ability of which can optionally be modified in accordance with the properties of the active ingredient(s) to be formulated.
