Disclosed is a lamination machine including: a film support for receiving a functional film to be laminated; an article support configured to receive and position the optical article in a predetermined orientation; and an actuating member configured to move the film support and the article support toward each other for laminating at a predetermined pressure the functional film received in the film support onto the optical article received within the article support. The article support is a blocker support configured to receive a surfacing blocker onto which the optical article is to be disposed for lamination, the article support being further configured to transmit laminating forces induced by the predetermined pressure to the lamination machine during a lamination operation.

Conventionally, eyewear is rated in terms of its absorption coefficient (sometimes called the optical density (OD)) or the protection that it provides from ultraviolet (UV) radiation, which can damage the eye at high enough power levels. Infrared (IR) radiation can also damage the eye, but IR damage tends to occur at a much slower rate than UV-induced damage. Rating eyewear in terms of protection from IR radiation and/or in terms of a maximum safe exposure duration (SED) to IR radiation improves consumers' ability to protect themselves from IR radiation. In addition, eyewear rated for more IR protection or longer SED may still provide excellent vision thanks to coatings that reflect or absorb IR light and transmit visible light.

Methods and apparatus for rating eyeglass protection from infrared exposure

A methods and system for testing of eyeglasses using a background object are disclosed. The method includes obtaining an image of a background object, whereby in at least a part of the image the background object is captured as viewed through a lens of a pair of eyeglasses, and analyzing at least a part of the image showing the background object being captured through a lens of the eyeglasses, and identifying a property of the lens based on the analyzing.

Method and system for designing opthalmic lenses

A sprinkler comprising a housing fitted with an inlet port connectable to a water supply line and extending into an inlet chamber, a hollow stem member with an inlet end thereof being in flow communication with said inlet chamber and an outlet end thereof being in flow communication with an irrigation head, a diaphragm seal sealingly fixed at peripheral boundaries thereof to the housing and sealingly articulated to the stem member and supporting it at an essentially upright position. The housing has one or more outlet nozzles for emitting atomized liquid. A vortex generating member is received within the housing and is formed with at lest one vortex generating path generates a liquid vortex about an axis transversally extending relative to the longitudinal axis of the housing and extending opposite a respective outlet nozzle. Each of the vortex generating paths is in flow communication with the cavity and extends opposite a respective outlet nozzle.
