PET resins containing a small amount of a blue dye and/or further containing inorganic particles of FeOor BaSOare synthesized in the presence of an inorganic Ti&#x2014;Mg catalyst employed as a polycondensation catalyst and a phosphorus stabilizer during a polycondensation process, and the resultant PET resins are free of yellowish appearance and reduced regenerated acetaldehyde and cyclic oligomers after processed so that PET bottle preforms if made of the PET resins can facilitate reduction in aging time thereby to improve the product yield of the bottle preforms and to save the stock space for storing the bottle preforms.

The velocity of quenching air is between 0.2 m/sec to 0.6 m/sec. For the layout of the spinneret orifices, the diameter difference of outermost layer orifice and the innermost layer orifice is set less than 20 mm; and the distance between the diameter of innermost orifice layout and the diameter of quenching air tube is at least 12 and less than 33 mm. The orifice density of spinneret layout (orifice density) is set as 7&#x2dc;15 orifices per square centimeter.

The present invention provides a manufacturing method of copolyester for low acetaldehyde content of PET bottles. The polyethylene terephthalate (PET) polymer is added with an appropriate modifier in order to decrease the production of acetaldehyde caused by pyrolysis side reaction during the blow molding process of PET bottles. The modifier comprises stabilizer and primary antioxidant, wherein the stabilizer is an inorganic phosphorous compound with an addition quantity of 0.003&tilde;0.5 weight % based on the weight of the total copolyester copolymer and the primary antioxidant is a hindered phenolic antioxidant containing Ca with an addition quantity of 0.005&tilde;5.0 weight % based on the weight of the total copolyester copolymer. The present invention owns an improving effect of decreasing the production of side product&mdash;acetaldehyde at least 30% than those without the addition of said modifier.
