A device, a system, a method and a computer readable medium allowing a user to efficiently and easily add/remove or pair a processing device to a short distance wireless network is provided according to embodiments of the present invention. A user enters a PIN into a device. The device is then automatically paired to another device without any further user intervention to form a short distance wireless network in an embodiment of the present invention. A third party such as a manufacturer, reseller or telecommunication provider enables a processing device to be added to the short distance wireless network by generating a pairing message over the Internet or a SMS in an embodiment of the present invention. A user is able to know when a PIN code is invalid by a device performing error detection in another embodiment of the present invention. In still another embodiment of the present invention, the device also stores an error correction software component for correcting an erroneously inputted PIN.

Device, system, method and computer readable medium for pairing of devices in a short distance wireless network

A method, system, and computer readable medium allows a user to select an output signal for device/terminal in short distance wireless network. In embodiments of the present invention, the output signal is a ring tone, alarm, background image, vibration signal, font type, or portion of a motion picture. In embodiments of the present invention, a system comprises a first and second device, in a short distance wireless network, generating a first and second output signal. A cellular device generates a first and a second short-range radio signals responsive to a cellular signal from a cellular network. The cellular signal includes a first multimedia file for the first device and a second multimedia file for the second device. In an embodiment of the present invention, the first multimedia file and second multimedia file are thematically related. In an embodiment of the present invention, a processing device is coupled to the cellular network and stores the first and second multimedia files. In an embodiment of the present invention, a user selects a theme on a device or at a web site in order to change the output signals in the short distance wireless network. In an embodiment of the present invention, the output signals are changed periodically without user intervention. In still a further embodiment of the present invention, promoters or users pay a telecommunication network provider for conveniently and safely changing the output signals.

Method, system and computer readable medium for providing an output signal having a theme to a device in a short distance wireless network

A system, a wireless hand-held device, and software component for accessing information responsive to short-range radio signals is provided. The system includes a wireless gateway device coupled to a network, such as a cellular network. The wireless gateway device includes a network manager software component for accessing information from the network responsive to a first short-range radio signal. The network may be a corporate, private or public network, such as the Internet. A first wireless device is coupled to the wireless gateway device. The first wireless device provides the first short-range radio signal. In an embodiment of the present invention, the first wireless device is a cellular telephone, personal digital assistant or thin terminal having a Bluetooth&#x2122; processor and transmitter. In an embodiment of the present invention, the network manager software component includes a plug and play software component for loading and executing software for the first wireless device. In an embodiment of the present invention, a second wireless device accesses information on the first wireless device using the wireless gateway device.

The method comprises sampling ambient noise around the mobile device to obtain at least one audio sample; measuring volume of the at least one audio sample to determine volume of the ambient noise; increasing the volume of the mobile device, when the volume of the ambient noise is greater than a first threshold value; and decreasing the volume of the mobile device, when the volume of the ambient noise is less than a second threshold value.

A system, method and computer readable medium allows a user to alter output signals for a respective plurality of devices in short distance wireless network in response to a selection of an environment. In embodiments of the present invention, the output signal is a ring tone, alarm, display brightness, vibration signal, or type of language used. In embodiments of the present invention, a system comprises a cellular device and a first device, in a short distance wireless network. The cellular device generates a first short-range radio signal responsive to a selection of an environment. The environment is selected from the group consisting of a meeting, silence, normal and outdoors. A device, method, system and computer readable medium allows for a fast recovery of a communication connection in response to a newly assigned Wide Area Network ('WAN') Internet protocol ('IP') source address. In an embodiment of the present invention, a device provides communication between a WAN and a short distance wireless network. The device comprises a memory to store a first and a second WAN address for the device and a router software component. The processor and router software component transfers a first plurality of packets between the device and the wide area network using the first wide area network address. The processor and router software component discontinues the transfer of the first plurality of packets responsive to receiving the second wide area network address and transfers a second plurality of packets between the device and the wide area network using the second wide area network address. The second newly assigned WAN address may have been assigned by the WAN after a disconnection of communication between the device and a server in the WAN. In an embodiment of the present invention, the router software includes a plurality of private IP addresses for respective terminals, in the short distance wireless network, associated with the WAN IP address. In an embodiment of the present invention, a Point-to-Point (&#x201c;PPP&#x201d;) connection or Transfer Control Protocol (&#x201c;TCP&#x201d;) connection is discontinued and then initiated in response to a newly assigned WAN IP address in order to quickly recover a communication connection between terminals in the short distance wireless network and the WAN.
