A surgical instrument for at least partial occlusion of the uterus blood vessels comprising two opposing jaws with scissor-type handles and a latching mechanism. Each jaw has a straight memberand a straight memberconnected with an angle 30-45 degrees. Each said memberhas a tubular cover. Each memberis integrated with the scissor-type handle. Each jaw has an inner side and an outer side. The jaws are made movable relative to each other in order to at least partially occlude the uterus blood vessels by the opposite sides of the covers on the inner sides of the members The latching mechanism is made to retain the jaws in the working position over a needed period of time and release the jaws when the need for occlusion is over. Each cover has an inner cavity open from one end for receiving and retaining the memberof said jaw. The thickness of each said cover on the inner side of the memberis 8-12 mm, the width of said cover is 10-30 mm, the length of said cover is 50-60 mm, and said cover is made of soft plastic, silicon, fabric, gauze or non woven material.

Instrument for occlusion of uterine blood vessels

A system and method for detecting a surgical implement retained within a surgically exposed human body cavity, includes a tag adapted to be attached to a surgical implement insertable within a human body cavity, including a receiver for receiving an electromagnetic signal and converting it into electric signal; and a circuit to impress said electric signal on the internal human (or an animal) body where the medical product is used; and a transmitter to transmit the electromagnetic signal; and a detector including a receptor for receiving the electric signal from the body and a detector connected to the receptor for detecting the electric signal. The envelope of the induced RF wave is demodulated, thus allowing the voltage at the output to vary at a significantly lower frequency. In the event such pulses are sensed, a sensory alert is actuated.

System and method for tagging and detecting surgical implements

In one embodiment, a vortex tube has a gas inlet port, a cold gas outlet port and a hot gas outlet port. A thermoelectric potential generator having hot gas inlet port coupled to the hot gas outlet port of the vortex tube, a cold gas inlet port coupled to the cold gas outlet port of the vortex tube, and a thermoelectric element coupled in heat conducting relationship between the cold gas inlet port and the hot gas inlet port to promote the flow of heat/cold through the thermoelectric element from the hot gas flowing into the hot gas inlet port to the cold gas flowing through the cold gas inlet port. A dispensing closure assembly includes an outer closure body having an upper tubular portion which can function as a mouthpiece for users. The closure assembly includes a flexible valve member mounted within the tubular portion of the closure body for dispensing of liquids or like contents by either the application of suction by a consumer, or by squeezing the associated container. By the provision of a liquid seal lip which coacts with an inside surface of the flexible valve member, the closure assembly can be configured to facilitate convenient use by consumers, while avoiding undesirable leakage attendant to normal handling during use.
