A system and method for treating a subterranean formation. The method may include utilizing a diluted stream and a high-loading stream which are combined to form a diverting composition. The diverting composition may then be injected into a wellbore. The system may include devices to prepare the diluted stream and high-loading stream, combine the streams, and introduce the combined stream into the wellbore.

Systems and methods for handling wellsite packets for a wellsite are provided. The wellsite packets include soluble packaging with wellsite materials therein. The wellsite has surface equipment and downhole equipment positioned about a wellbore. The handling system includes at least one feeder, at least one mixer, at least one metering device, and a pump. The feeder moves the wellsite packets directly or indirectly into the mixer. The mixer stimulates dissolution of the soluble packaging so as to mix the wellsite materials with a fluid to form a wellsite mixture. The metering device selectively controls the number of wellsite packets moving to the mixer. The pump is operatively coupled to the mixer to pump the wellsite mixture at the wellsite.

A method of treating a subterranean formation comprising generating a fracture in the subterranean formation, introducing a predetermined amount of proppant into a treatment fluid, and subsequently introducing a plugging agent into the treatment fluid before the entire predetermined amount of proppant reaches the fracture, minimizing overdisplacement of the proppant from the fracture.

This invention is related to the oil and gas production industry and more particularly to a proppant that can be used to enhance oil and gas production in hydraulic fracturing. Most particularly, the invention is a composition and a manufacturing process for making ceramic proppant: a ceramic matrix composition formed from a precursor of the matrix and a reinforcing additive, in which the reinforcing additive is in the form of numerous elongated inorganic crystals; or one or more than one precursor may be pre-fired (pre-calcined).

A low-density ceramic proppant is formed from a light aggregate of a natural mineral and a ceramic binding material in the form of a proppant granule. The light aggregate expands in volume when burnt so that the density of the aggregate is changed. A method of preparing a proppant material is carried out by pre-crushing and pre-mixing of raw components. This is followed by their granulation into proppant granules, drying and screening of the granules to a selected size. The raw components include at least a ceramic binding material and a light aggregate of a natural mineral that, when burnt, expands in volume so that the specific volume of the aggregate is changed. The burning of the light aggregate may be accomplished before or after the aggregate is mixed with the binding material.
