A processing system may obtain a data set with records of network parameter changes, each record including at least one network parameter change and at least one attribute associated with a first aspect of a communication network, and a corresponding network performance indicator change. A first record may include a plurality of network parameter change groups. The processing system may next perform a de-confusion process by identifying a second record comprising a single network parameter change group, determining that a corresponding network performance indicator change is different from that of the at least the first record, and updating the data set to replace the first record with at least two replacement records. The processing system may apply at least one of the network parameter change groups to a second aspect of the communication network based upon a decision output of a classifier that is trained using the updated data set.

Performance-driven network parameter changes in a communication network

A method performed by a processing system including at least one processor includes grouping a plurality of nodes of a telecommunications network into a plurality of reference groups, based on a plurality of configuration attributes and on a plurality of load, mobility, radio frequency attributes for the plurality of nodes, selecting a first reference group of the plurality of reference groups, where the first reference group includes a subset of the plurality of nodes, selecting a first configuration parameter of the first reference group to be tuned, identifying a first value for the first configuration parameter that is most prevalent among the subset of the plurality of nodes, and setting the first configuration parameter for all nodes in the subset of the plurality of nodes to the first value.

Optimization of long term evolution/fifth generation service through conformity-based recommendations

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, detecting an interruption of a supply of operating power to a cell site of a cellular communication network, estimating an estimated time to restoration (ETR) of the supply of operating power to the cell site, wherein the estimating is based on information of an operator of the cellular communication network, determining, based in part on the ETR, to dispatch a portable generator to the cell site to provide a new supply of operating power to the cell site, and initiating a communication to dispatch the portable generator. Portable generator dispatch recommendation engine

A processing system may apply a data set comprising utilization metrics of a cells of a cell sector to a throughput prediction model to obtain a first predicted throughput for the cell sector for a designated future time period and for all cells being in an active state. The processing system may generate a first modified data set simulating a first cell being placed in an inactive state, by distributing utilization metrics of the first cell over at least one additional cell, and may apply the first modified data set to the throughput prediction model to obtain a second predicted throughput. The processing system may then determine that the second predicted throughput meets a threshold throughput that is based on the first predicted throughput, and transmit at least one instruction to place the first cell in the inactive state for the designated future time period in response to the determining.

Cell site energy utilization management

A method includes selecting a study group including a first network element and a second network element of a network, selecting a control group including a third network element, identifying times at which a change is deployed at the first network element and the second network element, time-aligning the change at the first element and the change at the second network element to a common time, performing a statistical analysis that compares the performance of the network before the common time to the performance of the network after the common time, detecting an impact of the change on a performance of the network based on the statistical analysis, and initiating a remedial action when the impact comprises a degradation to the performance.

Assessing the impacts of cellular network changes

The technologies described herein are generally directed to validating the integration of new carrier components at base station equipment, e.g., in a fifth generation (5G) network or other next generation networks. For example, a method described herein can include, confirming based on installation data, an installation milestone of an installation of a carrier component at base station equipment, resulting in a confirmed milestone. The method can further include, based on the confirmed milestone, identifying for an evaluation of the installation of the carrier component, a criterion associated with a characteristic of operation of the base station equipment. Further, the method can include based on a result of evaluation of the installation, sending, by the network equipment, a validation signal to the base station equipment indicating that the installation of the carrier component is validated.

Validating the integration of new carrier components at access point equipment

A method of reverse migrating traffic in a network includes receiving, via an application programming interface (API), a request to migrate traffic, the request identifying a target around which the traffic is to be migrated and a peer to which the traffic is to be migrated. The computer-implemented method further includes generating one or more masks comprising weights indicating a percentage of traffic to send to each port of at least two ports. The computer-implemented method further includes stacking the one or more masks on a base mask denoting a default configuration of a network component. The computer-implemented method further includes facilitating migration of the traffic using the one or more masks. The computer-implemented method further includes performing a reverse migration from the target to the peer by removing each of the one or more masks.

Common abstraction for network traffic migration

A method and apparatus for providing trouble isolation are disclosed. For example, the method monitors a plurality of sessions for a user group for detecting an abnormal cause code associated with the user group, determines a root cause for the abnormal cause code when a deviation is determined to have occurred for the cause code of the user group, wherein the root cause identifies either an issue associated with the communications network or an issue associated with user endpoint devices of the user group, and generates a ticket indicating the root cause.

Method and apparatus for providing trouble isolation via a network

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, automatically detecting a service issue of a telecommunication system that may impact a customer of a telecommunication service provider of the telecommunication system, predicting, by the processing system, a future customer care interaction by the customer as a result of the service issue, initiating a resolution action of the telecommunication system for the service issue before the customer contacts a customer care agent of the telecommunication service provider, wherein the initiating is responsive to the predicting the future customer care interaction and modifying a component of the telecommunication system to improve efficiency of operation of the telecommunication system by reducing a number of customer care contacts by customers of the telecommunication service provider. Proactive customer care in a communication system

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method in which a processing system installs on a controlling device user interface automation software provided by a customer care server separated from the controlling device; the controlling device communicates with the customer care server over a communication network. The system receives information from equipment of a customer care agent regarding a customer care issue associated with a communication device coupled to the controlling device by a communication link separate from the communication network. The method includes effecting, responsive to the information and without action by a user of the communication device, an input to the user interface via the communication link to initiate a resolution procedure for the customer care issue; the resolution procedure can include resetting network settings, enabling a network service, collecting information regarding the network settings, and/or providing new network settings. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Method and system to automate troubleshooting and resolution of customer device issues

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method comprising determining whether a skippable advertisement is being streamed preceding a requested video; responsive to determining that the skippable advertisement is being streamed, initiating a skippable advertisement procedure, wherein the skippable advertisement procedure comprises streaming a first portion of the skippable advertisement without imposing constraints and streaming a second portion of the skippable advertisement imposing constraints; responsive to receiving a request to skip the skippable advertisement, ceasing the streaming the second portion of the skippable advertisement and initiating streaming of the requested video without imposing constraints. A processing system may obtain values of carrier attributes for a new carrier to be deployed in a cellular network, obtain values of the carrier attributes and values of a configuration parameter for a plurality of existing carriers in the cellular network, and construct an attribute value matrix comprising the values of the carrier attributes for the plurality of existing carriers, where the attribute value matrix associates the carrier attributes to the plurality of existing carriers, apply a regression to a function associating the attribute value matrix to a vector of the values of the configuration parameter for the plurality of existing carriers to learn coefficients of the function, apply the coefficients to a vector comprising the values of the plurality of carrier attributes for the new carrier to generate a value of the configuration parameter for the new carrier, and apply the generated value to the new carrier.
