The sample channel is configured to direct a physiological sample drawn from a subject to the collection chamber. The pin is removably positioned within the receptacle and is configured to move from an undeployed position to a deployed position. The pin is configured to seal the receptacle when in the undeployed position and is further configured to facilitate generation of negative pressure in the sample channel when the pin is moved from the undeployed to the deployed position.

The vacuum pin creates a vacuum within the cartridge when moved to a deployed position. The system further includes a lancet with a needle(s). The lancet is configured to move the needle(s) from an undeployed position to a deployed position when engaged with into the cartridge. The needle(s) is configured to draw a physiological sample from the subject when the needle(s) is in the deployed position. The vacuum created by the vacuum pin draws the physiological sample to the sample collection pad.

A method for delivery of a pharmaceutical to a subject includes applying a dermal patch to a subject's skin, wherein the dermal patch comprises a reservoir that stores a pharmaceutical and further comprises at least one hollow needle configured for puncturing the skin, actuating the at least one needle to puncture the subject's skin, and causing at least a portion of the stored pharmaceutical to be released from the reservoir for delivery via a lumen of the hollow needle to the subject.

The dermal patch includes a fluid reservoir configured to store a processing fluid, a sample collection chamber configured to receive the processing fluid and the physiological sample, wherein the applicator is configured to cause the needle to puncture the subject's skin to draw the physiological sample when the first actuating lever is moved from the undeployed lever position to the deployed lever position and cause the processing fluid to release from the fluid reservoir when the second actuating lever is moved from the undeployed position to the deployed position.
