A method and apparatus provides a determination of a set of sequence values to be used as synchronization signal sequences, the set of sequence values having a predetermined length. Each sequence value in the set is based upon a first maximum length sequence having a first cyclic shift, and is based upon a second maximum length sequence having a second cyclic shift. For at least one group of possible sequence values from the determined set, where a value of a first cyclic shift difference between the second cyclic shift of the second maximum length sequence and the first cyclic shift of the first maximum length sequence upon which each of the possible sequence values in the group are based are equal, and a second cyclic shift difference between the respective first cyclic shift value of the first maximum length sequence upon which each of the possible sequence values in the group are based for any two of the possible sequence values in the group are larger than or equal to a threshold value, where the threshold value is determined based on an expected maximum carrier frequency offset value. The method further includes assigning each one of the determined set of sequence values to respective at least one communication target of a plurality of communication targets.

Method and apparatus for establishing a set of a plurality of synchronization signal sequences to be used with one or more communication targets

A method and apparatus provide synchronization signals and random access for flexible radio communication. Information can be received from a base station. The information can include a plurality of subcarrier spacings and at least one random access configuration for a cell. Each of the at least one random access configuration can be associated with at least one subcarrier spacing of the plurality of subcarrier spacings. The at least one subcarrier spacing can be used for communication. A random access configuration can be selected from the at least one random access configuration. A random access preamble can be transmitted according to the selected random access configuration.

Method and apparatus for synchronization signals and random access for flexible radio communication

A method and apparatus include determining for use with a user equipment a measurement configuration, which includes at least information on a frequency location of synchronization signals, a carrier frequency value, and a measurement bandwidth. The measurement configuration is transmitted to the user equipment by higher layer signaling, where the higher layer signaling is above the physical layer. One or more synchronization signals are transmitted on the frequency location, from which a first identity value can be determined. A broadcast channel is transmitted to the user equipment from which a second identity value can be determined, the broadcast channel including a first reference signal based on the first identity value. A second reference signal based on the first identity value, the second identity value, the frequency location of synchronization signals, the carrier frequency value, and the measurement bandwidth is transmitted.

A method and apparatus having a synchronization signal sequence structure for low complexity cell detection is provided. The method includes establishing a set of a plurality of synchronization signal sequences to be used in connection with a communication target. Each one of the plurality of synchronization signal sequences includes at least a first sub-sequence, which includes either a first preselected sequence or a complex conjugate of the first preselected sequence, and a second sub-sequence, which includes either a second preselected sequence or a complex conjugate of the second preselected sequence. The second preselected sequence is different than the first preselected sequence, and is different than the complex conjugate of the first preselected sequence. Further, a length of the first sub-sequence and a length of the second sub-sequence are smaller than a length of the synchronization signal sequence. A signal including a synchronization signal is then received, where the synchronization signal comprises one of the synchronization signal sequences from the set of the plurality of synchronization signal sequences, and the synchronization signal is then detected.

Method and apparatus having a synchronization signal sequence structure for low complexity cell detection

A method and apparatus provides a determination of a set of sequence values to be used as synchronization signal sequences, the set of sequence values having a predetermined length. Each sequence value in the set is based upon a first maximum length sequence having a first cyclic shift, and is based upon a second maximum length sequence having a second cyclic shift. For at least one group of possible sequence values from the determined set, where a value of a cyclic shift difference between the second cyclic shift of the second maximum length sequence and the first cyclic shift of the first maximum length sequence upon which each of the possible sequence values in the group are based are equal, a cyclic shift difference between the respective first cyclic shift value of the first maximum length upon which each of the possible sequence values in the group are based for any two of the possible sequence values in the group are larger than or equal to a threshold value, where the threshold value is determined based on an expected maximum carrier frequency offset value. The method further includes assigning each one of the determined set of sequence values to respective at least one communication target of a plurality of communication targets.

A method and a user equipment having a plurality of antenna panels are provided. A set of transmission configuration indicator state configurations are received by the user equipment via a protocol layer above the physical layer, wherein each transmission configuration indicator state comprises an indication of an associated at least one reference signal which is used as a quasi co-location source for a resource and a quasi co-location type associated with the at least one reference signal. The at least one reference signal associated with the set of transmission configuration indicator state configurations are received, and a first subset of transmission configuration indicator states are determined based on the received at is least one reference signal associated with the set of transmission configuration indicator state configurations. An indication of the first subset of transmission configuration indicator states is then transmitted to a network entity.

A method and apparatus include receiving a measurement configuration by higher layer signaling, where the higher layer signaling is above the physical layer. The measurement configuration includes at least information of frequency location of synchronization signals, a carrier frequency, and a maximum allowed measurement bandwidth. A measurement reference signal is then received based on the received measurement configuration, and a measurement based on the received measurement reference signal is performed.

A first Synchronization Signal (SS) associated with a first identifier and a second SS associated with a second identifier can be stored. A first SS sequence can be defined by at least an element-wise multiplication of a first sequence with a second sequence. The first sequence can be a first base sequence cyclically shifted with a first cyclic shift value and the second sequence is a second base sequence cyclically shifted with a second cyclic shift value. A second SS sequence can be defined by at least an element-wise multiplication of a third sequence with a fourth sequence. The third sequence can be the first base sequence cyclically shifted with a third cyclic shift value and the fourth sequence is the second base sequence cyclically shifted with a fourth cyclic shift value. The first SS associated with the first identifier and the second SS associated with the second identifier can be output.
