There is provided an optical sensor including a photodiode, a wave converter, a pixel array and a processor. The photodiode detects ambient light flicker to generate sine waves. The wave converter converts the sine waves to square waves. The processor uses a sampling frequency to count the square waves, and identifies whether the ambient light flicker is well detected according to a counting value of each square wave and a counting value variation of multiple square waves within a count period to accordingly determine whether to recognize a frequency of ambient light flicker and adjust an acquiring phase of the image frame.

There is provided a 2-stage moving average filter for a navigation device including a delta regulator and an N-taps average circuit. The delta regulator is used as a first stage to receive motion delta at a varied frequency, and combine or split the received motion delta to output a regulated motion delta at a fixed frequency. The N-taps average circuit receives and averages N regulated motion delta and outputs the averaged motion delta at a fixed frequency.

A mouse device and method for calibrating sensitivity thereof are provided. The method for calibrating sensitivity includes the following steps. First, sampling information is obtained under a test mode. A calibration factor is obtained according to the sampling information and a preset value. The calibration factor can be obtained by dividing the preset value by the resolution. Under a normal mode, an actual count detected by the mouse device is calibrated according to the calibration factor. Whenever the mouse device is moved on the operating surface for a distance, the actual count detected by the mouse device can be calibrated to obtain a calibrated count. The calibrated count can be calculated by multiplying the actual count by the calibration factor.

The clock calibration method includes: entering a calibration mode; sequentially issuing, by a host, a count start signal and a count end signal separated by a time interval; counting a local oscillation frequency of a local oscillator when a navigation device receives the count start signal from the host; disabling the counting when the navigation device receives the count end signal from the host and generating a current count; generating a calibration signal according to the current count and a predetermined count corresponding to the time interval; and calibrating the local oscillation frequency of the local oscillator according to the calibration signal.
