Methods, systems, and apparatuses, among other things, as described herein may use 1) A sidelink state model to describe the UE behavior for sidelink DRX operation. For example, content might only be protected while the content is in transit between entities that trust each other. Only authorized entities may store and retrieve the data that is stored at the hosting node, and the data may be protected from a confidentiality perspective and an integrity perspective.

Radio networks such as Public Land Mobile Networks (PLMNs), user equipment devices (UEs), servers such as Internet-of-Things servers, and core network entities may be adapted to facilitate transfers of connections of wireless devices. For example, a first PLMN may provide restricted access to a UE to assist the UE in finding a second PLMN for a full connection. Entities may be adapted to support for non-coverage related PLMN transfers, such as transfers initiated by UEs, PLMNs, servers, and core network entities, e.g., in response to changing usage, congestion, etc.

A user equipment (UE) determines sidelink resources for use in vehicle wireless communications. Initial beam establishment uses a Sidelink Synchronization Signal (SLSS), a Sidelink Channel State Information Reference Signal (SL-CSI-RS), or a Sidelink Demodulation Reference Signal (SL-DMRS). Beam refinement may then be conducted either by UEs in communication with each other, or by just one of the UEs. In such cases, initial beam establishment and refinement may include gNB controlled beam forming at a connectionless stage, gNB controlled beam forming at connection stage with scheduling DCI transmitted to Tx UE only, or gNB controlled beam forming at connection stage with scheduling DCI transmitted to both Tx UE and Rx UE.

Current discovery mechanisms lack capabilities, such as capabilities related to permissions associated with a given registrant for example. In an example embodiment, a registrant of a service layer can communicate with a network node that hosts the service layer. The network node may receive a discovery request for a resource from the registrant. The discovery may request include various context. For example, the context of the discovery request may be indicative of an operation that the registrant intends to perform on the resource, a role that the registrant intends to assume if the registrant accesses the resource, a location in which the registrant intends to access the resource, or a subscription plan that the registrant intends to use if the registrant accesses the resource. Based on the context of the discovery request, the network node may determine whether one or more resources at the service layer satisfy the discovery request.

An apparatus in accordance with the present application may monitor a sidelink (SL) connection. The apparatus includes processing circuitry that receives signals in a protocol stack to perform SL-radio link monitoring (SL-RLM), and determines, according to the signals, whether a SL-radio link failure (RLF) has occurred. The signals may include hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback. In a case that the signals include a HARQ-NACK, the processing circuitry determines that the SL-RLF has occurred. The processing circuitry further receives configuration information related to the SL-RLM for the signals, the configuration information including configurations for measurement quantities of the signals and a condition for declaring SL-RLF, configures, according to the configuration information, lower layers of the protocol stack for the SL-RLM for the signals, and performs SL-RLM measurements of the measurement quantities.

The exchange of resource allocation assistance information between a requester User Equipment (UE) and an assistant UE allows the requester to make better resource allocation decisions. The assistance information may include a blacklist, a whitelist, resource allocation information, a candidate resource set, and measurement information, for example. Both UEs may have an assistance configuration to assist in the exchange of resource allocation assistance information, that may be obtained from a third apparatus, such as a base station. The configuration may include information related to when to trigger assistance, identities of UEs, and types of assistance information, for example. The requester may, based on the assistance information received, modify a candidate resource set at a Medium Access Control (MAC) layer. The requester may, at the MAC layer, determine a configured sidelink grant for a selected destination using assistance information targeting this destination.
