Electrical connector having improved characteristic impedance

A USB (Universal Serial Bus) plug connector includes an insulative housing, a number of terminals retained in the insulative housing, and a protector enclosing the insulative housing. The housing defines an upper surface, a bottom surface, a pair of side surfaces, and a front surface. The protector defines a front wall, a pair of side walls extending backwardly from two edges of the front wall, and a number of affixed portions extending backwardly from the front wall and located between the two side walls. The affixed portions are received in the insulative housing. The front wall of the protector encloses the front surface of the insulative housing and the side walls of the protector respectively enclose the side surfaces of the insulative housing to prevent the insulative housing from physically contacting with a mating USB receptacle connector.

USB connector assembly

A cable connector assembly () includes an electrical connector (), a cable connecting the electrical connector electrically, an external shell () mounted to the connecting portion of the electrical connector and the cable. The electrical connector includes an insulative housing (), a number of terminals () received in the insulative housing, and a front shell () mounted to the insulative housing. The insulative housing includes a base section () and a mating section () extending forwardly from the base section. The front shell () includes a frame portion () enclosing the mating section and a retaining portion () extending rearwardly from the frame portion and assembled to the base section. The retaining portion further defines a number of elastic portions () bent upwardly from the retaining portion and resisting against an inner face of the external shell.

Cable connector assembly having improved anti-EMI function

A coaxial cable assembly including a plurality of first and second wires of different diameters and a grounding member. Each wire defines a central conductor, an inner insulative layer, a shielding layer, and an outer insulative layer. The grounding member surrounds the plurality of wires and electrically connect with the shielding layers of the wires. The grounding member includes a first grounding piece and a second grounding piece having opposing first and second grooves, respectively.

USB plug connector and method for manufacturing the same

A multi-functional transfer connector for connecting with different receptacles includes a first insulative housing (), a first plug () and a first receptacle () retained in the first insulative housing, a base insulative housing (), and a base plug () retained in the base insulative housing. The base insulative housing defines a peripherally closed receiving space () to receive the first insulative housing, the first plug, and the first receptacle. The first plug and the first receptacle are located at the opposite sides of the first insulative housing. A cable () is located at opposite, outer sides of the receiving space with respect to the base plug. The cable includes individual wires electrically connecting in parallel to the first plug, the first receptacle, and the base plug directly.

Multi-functional transfer connector for connecting with different receptacles

A cable connector assembly for mating with a complementary connector comprises: an insulative housing defining a receiving space and a plurality of receiving slots communicated with the receiving space; a wire management received into the receiving space; a twisted-pair cable having a plurality of first and second conductive wires assembled to the wire management and located on different planes; a metallic piece assembled to the wire management and disposed between the plurality of first and second conductive wires; and a plurality of terminals received into the plurality of receiving slots and pierced into the plurality of first and second conductive wires.
