A card edge connector includes: an elongated insulative housing comprising two longitudinal walls, a center slot defined between the longitudinal walls, and plural terminal receiving passageways arranged along the longitudinal walls; and plural terminals fixed in the terminal receiving passageways, wherein each of the longitudinal walls defines a first recessed portion extending along a longitudinal direction and plural second recessed portions extending upwardly from the first recessed portion at an outer surface thereof, the second recessed portions are arranged at intervals along the longitudinal direction, the first recessed portion goes through a bottom face of the longitudinal wall, and the second recessed portions does not go through a top of the longitudinal wall.

A securing mechanism for retaining a daughter board upon the primary board includes a base, which is moveably assembled upon the main board, and a latch assembled upon the base and moveable between a locking position and an unlocking position. The base forms a support platform upwardly abutting against the underside of the daughter board and equipped with an arc protrusion for receipt within a notch of the daughter board, and a grounding piece with one end mechanically and electrically connecting a grounding pad of the daughter board and the other end mechanically and electrically connecting a grounding pad on the main board. The base forms a horizontal slot to receive the main body so as to retain the base to the main body in position in the vertical direction. The latch forms a pressing face downwardly pressing an upper side of the daughter board.

A card edge connector includes an elongate housing defining a card slot between an upper wall and a lower wall, two rows of terminals disposed in the upper and lower walls, and a retaining part. Each row includes a plurality of signal terminals and a plurality of grounding terminals, the terminals include contacting sections exposed upon the card slot, leg sections extending out the insulating housing and connecting sections joining with the contacting sections and the leg sections. The retaining part includes a grounding member and an insulating base inserting molded with the grounding member, the insulating base are retained with the insulating housing and located between the two rows of the terminals, the grounding member includes two rows of grounding fingers extending out the insulating base and contacting with the grounding terminals one by one.

A card edge connector includes an insulative elongated housing defining an elongated slot extending along a longitudinal direction. Two rows of contacts are disposed in the housing so as to be paired in each cross-sectional plane in a transverse direction. A pair of towers are located at two opposite ends of the housing in the longitudinal direction. A pair of ejectors/lockers are disposed in the corresponding towers and rotational about a pivot extending along the transverse direction. Each ejector has a bottom kicker adapted to intimately confront a bottom edge of the memory module for ejecting the memory module out of the housing. The kicker slightly interferes with the contacting sections of the neighboring contacts when the ejector is located at an outer position so as to be retained in position with regard to the housing.

A card edge connector includes an insulative elongated housing, a plurality of contacts disposed in the housing, and a pair of rotatable ejectors at two ends of the housing. The housing includes a pair of side walls extending along the longitudinal direction with a receiving slot therebetween in a transverse direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, and a pair of towers at two opposite ends of the housing in the longitudinal direction. The receiving slot is configured to receive a card type memory module. The pair of ejectors are disposed in the corresponding towers, respectively. Each ejector includes a kicker at the bottom wherein a tip of the kicker will not invade into the space between the pair of outermost contacts so as not interfere with the corresponding outermost contacts when the ejector is rotated to be at an open/ejecting position.

A card edge connector includes an insulative elongated housing, two rows of contacts disposed in the housing. The housing includes a pair of side walls extending along the longitudinal direction with a receiving slot therebetween in a transverse direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction. The receiving slot is configured to receive a card type memory module. Each contact is equipped with the solder ball for surface mounting upon the printed circuit board. The contact includes a retaining section secured to the housing, a deflectable contacting section extending upwardly from the retaining section, and a tail section extending downwardly from the retaining section and including a connecting section and a solder pad. The solder pads of the contacts in a same row along the longitudinal direction are alternately arranged in opposite directions in the transverse direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction.

A card edge connector includes an insulative housing with a pair of opposite side walls extending along a longitudinal direction with a central slot therebetween in the transverse direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction. A pair of towers are located at two opposite ends of the housing in the longitudinal direction. The housing is essentially obliquely mounted upon a printed circuit board. Each tower has a lower/first part and an upper/second part in the vertical direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction and the transverse direction. The width dimension in the transverse direction of the upper part is smaller than that of the lower part.

The terminal is used within a card edge connector. Each terminal includes a base, a connecting tail extending downwardly form the base, first and second extending sections commonly extending upwardly from the base while spaced from each other, and first and second contacting sections respectively extending from the corresponding extending sections and into the central slot wherein all the base, the extending sections, the contacting sections and the connecting section lie in a same plane. The first contacting section is lower than the second contacting section. The first extending section is closer to the central slot than the second extending section is, and has more deflected regions thereof than the second extending section for increasing the length and the corresponding resiliency thereof.

A card edge connector includes an elongated insulative housing extending in a longitudinal direction and defining at least one tower portion extending upwardly from a longitudinal end thereof, a plurality of contacts retained in the insulative housing, and an ejector received in the at least one tower portion for latching with or ejecting a memory card. The ejector has a base portion rotatably attached to the tower portion and a locking portion rotatably attached to the base portion, the at least one tower portion has a slot, the locking portion is rotatable inward to face towards the top surface of the insulative housing in order to reduce a height of the card edge connector, the base portion has a lower ejecting section, and the locking portion has an upper locking section.

A card edge connector for receiving a memory card includes an insulative housing with a central slot for receiving the memory card and a plurality of terminal contacts retained in a plurality of grooves defined by the insulative housing and a retainer positioned on the housing. The retainer defines a body portion mounted on the housing, a locking portion extending into the housing from the body portion and a elastic engaging portion extending downwardly into the central slot from inner side of the body portion for steadily locking the memory card.
