Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and an apparatus for processing audio in video communication. The method includes: acquiring audio data and audio source position information corresponding to the audio data in the video communication, and performing longitudinal-depth processing on the audio data according to the audio source position information. According to the embodiments of the present invention, the audio data and the audio source position information corresponding to the audio data in the video communication are acquired first, and then the longitudinal-depth processing is performed on the audio data according to the acquired audio source position information to make it be audio data that provides a longitudinal-depth feeling that matches the audio source position information, so that sounds generated by objects at different front/back positions can be distinguished in the video communication.

Method and apparatus for processing audio in video communication

A system for providing multi-language conference is provided. The system includes conference terminals and a multipoint control unit. The conference terminals are adapted to process a speech of a conference site, transmitting the processed speech to the multipoint control unit, process an audio data received from the multipoint control unit and output it. At least one of the conference terminals is an interpreting terminal adapted to interpret the speech of the conference according to the audio data transmitted from the multipoint control unit, process the interpreted audio data and output the processed audio data. The multipoint control unit is adapted to perform a sound mixing process of the audio data from the conference terminals in different sound channels according to language types, and then sends mixed audio data after the sound mixing process to the conference terminals.

A method for processing multi-channel audio signals includes receiving L channel audio signals from participating conference terminals, decoding the L channel audio signals, and determining N conference terminals whose audio signals are to be mixed from the participating conference terminals according to the data obtained through decoding; selecting an encoder as a common encoder from L&#x2212;N encoders of the participating conference terminals except the N conference terminals whose audio signals are to be mixed, encoding decoded audio signals of the N conference terminals whose audio signals are to be mixed, and sending encoded data to conference terminals corresponding to the L&#x2212;N encoders (indicating that the number of encoders is equal to the value of L minus N); and updating encoding status information of L&#x2212;N&#x2212;1 encoders except the common encoder to synchronize with encoding status information of the common encoder.
