A lateral filter array microfluidic (LFAM) device for highly efficient immunoaffinity isolation of target cells from a population of cells. The LFAM device may include of one or more serpentine main channels incorporated with lateral filter arrays. Antibodies are immobilized on the channel surface including the lateral filters and are capable of specific binding to one or more biomolecules on the surface of the target cell. The device may include one or more arrays of lateral filters with different sizes. The overall filters sizes are close to the diameter of the target cell, therefore the interaction between biomarkers on the target cells and corresponding antibodies immobilized on the filter surface is largely strengthened due to the direct contact between target cells and lateral filters. Methods include flowing a population of cells through an antibody-coated LFAM device for target cells capture, followed by washing the device to remove non-specific captured cells.

Lateral filter array microfluidic device

An apparatus and method are provided for performing detection of microorganisms (e.g., viruses) with high sensitivity. The apparatus and method are well suited for point-of-care (POC) testing in resource-limited regions and are capable of being operated with very little manual intervention and without the need for lab equipment. A variety of viruses can be detected with high sensitivity, including, for example, coronaviruses, Zika virus and flu viruses.

Apparatus and method for performing microorganism detection

Described herein are bioaerosol detection systems and methods of use. In embodiments of bioaerosol detection systems and methods of use as described herein, systems and methods detect one or more coronaviruses and/or one or more influenza strains. In embodiments, coronaviruses according to systems and methods as described herein are SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. In embodiments, influenza strains and/or particles according to the present disclosure are H1N1 influenza.

Described herein are bioaerosol detection systems and methods of use.

The subject invention pertains to devices and methods of isolating target cells from a population of cells. The devices comprise of microfluidic channels and aptamers and antibodies attached to the inner surface of the microfluidic channels, wherein the aptamers and the antibodies are capable of specific binding to one or more biomolecules present on the surface of the target cell. The methods of the current invention comprise passing the population of cells through the microfluidic channels to facilitate interaction and capture of the target cells by the aptamers and the antibodies attached to the inner surface of the microfluidic channels, washing to microfluidic channels by a washing solution to remove the cells non-specifically bound to the aptamers and the antibodies attached to the inner surface of the microfluidic channels, releasing the captured target cells from the microfluidic channels, and collecting the released target cells.

The current is directed to a device comprising, a reaction chamber where a reaction takes place, one or more feeding chambers which contain feeding solution comprising chemicals required for the reaction, and one or more porous membranes separating the reaction chamber from the one or more feeding chambers, and wherein the one or more porous membranes are in substantially vertical position. The current invention is also directed to an apparatus comprising a plurality of devices, wherein each device comprises of a reaction chamber where a reaction takes place, one or more feeding chambers which contain feeding solution comprising chemicals required for the reaction, and one or more porous membranes which separate the reaction chamber from feeding chambers, wherein the one or more porous membranes are in substantially vertical position. These devices and apparatuses can be used for high throughput synthesis of biomolecules and chemicals and biological screening assays.
