An adhesive composition is described comprising a polyisobutylene polymer component; and up to 30 wt.-% of at least one aliphatic multifunctional component comprising at least two ethylenically unsaturated groups selected from (meth)acryl or vinyl ether. The monomer comprises a hydrocarbon moiety with greater than 12 contiguous carbon atoms. When the hydrocarbon moiety is branched, the hydrocarbon moiety comprises side chains with at least two carbon atoms. The aliphatic multifunctional component is sufficiently compatible such that crosslinked adhesive composition at a thickness of 20 microns has a haze of less than 3%. Polyisobutylene adhesive comprising multifunctional component with (meth)acryl or vinyl ether groups

Provided are double-coated tapes that include, in the following order: a first pressure-sensitive adhesive layer; a first plastic skin layer; an elastic base layer; a second plastic skin layer; and a second pressure-sensitive adhesive layer. The provided double-coated adhesive tapes can provide a combination of high bond strength, reworkability, and high impact and shock resistance, and can be easily converted using a die cutting process.

The present disclosure relates to an electronic device comprising at least one organic light-emitting diode and a pressure sensitive adhesive composition comprising a synthetic rubber block (co)polymer, and wherein the pressure sensitive adhesive composition has: a) a relative permittivity no greater than 2.50, when measured at an alternating current frequency of 100 kHz according to the test method described in the experimental section; b) a water uptake no greater than 0.60 wt %, when measured after exposure to 60&#xb0; C. and 95% relative humidity for 120 hours, according to the test method described in the experimental section; and c) optionally, a peel adhesion value above 0.20 N/mm, when measured at 85&#xb0; C. according to the test method described in the experimental section. In another aspect, the present disclosure is directed to a method of manufacturing an electronic device comprising at least one organic light-emitting diode, wherein the method comprises the step of using a pressure sensitive adhesive composition as described above. According to still another aspect, the present disclosure is directed to the use of a pressure sensitive adhesive composition as described above for protecting organic light-emitting devices or organic light-emitting diodes from moisture and air permeation.

Pressure-sensitive adhesive compositions for manufacturing electronic devices

An adhesive article including: a flexible backing; a first cushion layer permanently bonded to a first surface of the flexible backing, wherein the first cushion layer: has an average thickness of at least 10 micrometers; and includes an acrylate pressure-sensitive adhesive having a Fox Tg of up to &#x2212;30&#xb0; C., wherein the acrylate pressure-sensitive adhesive includes a (meth)acrylate copolymer; and a first continuous shell layer adjacent the first cushion layer, wherein: the first continuous shell layer has an average thickness of up to 25 micrometers; the ratio of the first cushion layer average thickness to the first shell layer average thickness is at least 2:1; the first continuous shell layer includes an adhesive having a Fox Tg of &#x2212;20&#xb0; C. to +50&#xb0; C.; and the first continuous shell layer adhesive includes a copolymer having a weight average molecular weight of at least 100,000 Daltons.

Adhesive articles including a cushion layer and a continuous shell layer

Polyester pressure-sensitive adhesives are described. The polyester includes at least two different diacid residues and at least two different diol residues. The polyester includes at least one pendant group containing an alkenyl group. A ratio of a total number of the at least one pendant group to the total number of ester groups in the polyester is in a range of 0.001 to 0.1. The polyester has a glass transition temperature in a range of &#x2212;50&#xb0; C. to &#x2212;10&#xb0; C.

Impact-resistant polyester pressure-sensitive adhesive

Polyester pressure-sensitive adhesives are described. The polyester includes at least two different diacid residues and at least two different diol residues. The at least two different diacid residues include, based on the total moles of the at least two diacid residues, 20 to 80 mole percent of a residue of at least one aromatic dicarboxylic acid, and 20 to 80 mole percent of at least one of a residue of adipic acid or sebacic acid. The polyesters may include at least one pendant group containing an alkenyl group.

The emulsion composition has droplets that contain various monomers plus a (meth)acrylate polymer and a hydrogenated hydrocarbon tackifier dissolved in the monomers. Additionally, an article containing a layer of the pressure-sensitive adhesive and a method of forming the pressure-sensitive adhesive are provided. The pressure-sensitive adhesives often have both high peel adhesion and high shear strength (i.e., high cohesive strength or high shear holding power).

Water-based pressure-sensitive adhesive compositions

A pressure sensitive adhesive composition includes a polyurethane polymer that includes the reaction product of a polyisocyanate component and a polyol component. The polyol component has a total solubility parameter ranging from 10 to 14 (cal/cm).

Chemical resistant polyurethane adhesive

Disclosed is a crosslinked adhesive composition comprising a low T(meth)acrylate copolymer component, a high T(meth)acrylate copolymer component, and a hydrogenated hydrocarbon tackifier. This disclosure provides a pressure-sensitive adhesive and pressure-sensitive adhesive articles that are particularly useful in the bonding of low surface energy (LSE) substrates.

The present disclosure relates to a multilayer pressure sensitive adhesive assembly comprising at least a first pressure sensitive adhesive layer superimposed to a second polymer layer, wherein a curable liquid precursor of the first pressure sensitive adhesive polymer layer comprises a low Tg (meth)acrylate copolymer and a high Tg (meth)acrylate copolymer having a weight average molecular weight (Mw) of above 20,000 Daltons. The present disclosure also relates to a method of manufacturing such a pressure sensitive adhesive assembly and uses thereof.

Multilayer pressure sensitive adhesive assembly

Adhesives suitable for use with low surface energy materials are described. The adhesive contain an acrylic copolymer, a high glass transition temperature tackifier and a low glass transition temperature tackifier. The acrylic copolymer is the reaction product of a first alkyl(meth)acrylate having at least 5 carbon atoms in the alkyl group, a second alkyl(meth)acrylate having 1 to 4 carbon atoms in the alkyl group, and a vinyl carboxylic acid. Both tackifiers have a Tg greater than the Tg of the acrylic copolymer. The high glass transition temperature tackifier has a Tg of at least 20&#xb0; C. and the low glass transition temperature tackifier has a Tg of less than 0&#xb0; C.

Low surface energy adhesive

Disclosed is an adhesive composition comprising a low T(meth)acrylate copolymer component, a high T(meth)acrylate copolymer component, and a hydrogenated hydrocarbon tackifier. This disclosure provides a pressure-sensitive adhesive and pressure-sensitive adhesive articles that are particularly useful in the bonding of low surface energy (LSE) substrates.

Pressure-sensitive adhesive composition

A curable composition includes components: a) at least one ethylene-propylene-(nonconjugated diene) terpolymer; b) at least one ethylene-propylene copolymer; c) at least one bis(halomethyl)triazine crosslinker; and d) at least one tackifier. A weight ratio of component a) to component b) is in a range of from 15:85 to 85:15. A pressure-sensitive adhesive includes an at least partially crosslinked reaction product of the curable composition. Adhesive articles including the pressure-sensitive adhesive are disclosed.

Curable composition, pressure-sensitive adhesive, method of making the same, and adhesive articles

A crosslinkable, pre-adhesive composition is described comprising an acid-functional (meth)acrylate copolymer and an aziridine crosslinking agent, which when crosslinked provides a pressure-sensitive adhesive and pressure-sensitive adhesive articles.
