A laminate including: a first ply having a first surface and a second surface, where the first surface is an outer surface of the laminate; a second ply having a third surface facing the second surface and a fourth surface opposite the third surface, where the fourth surface is an inner surface of the laminate; an interlayer between the plies; and an enhanced p-polarized reflective coating positioned over at least a portion of a surface of the plies. When the laminate is contacted with radiation having p-polarized radiation at an angle of 60° relative to normal of the laminate, the laminate exhibits a LTA of at least 70% and a reflectivity of the p-polarized radiation of at least 10%. A display system and method of projecting an image in a heads-up display is also disclosed.

Heads-up display and coating therefor

A coated article includes a substrate, a first dielectric layer, a first metallic layer, a first primer layer, a second dielectric layer, a second metallic layer, a second primer layer, a third dielectric layer, a third primer layer, a third metallic layer, and a fourth dielectric layer. The total combined thickness of the metallic layers is at least 30 nanometers and no more than 60 nanometers. The article can have a sheet resistance of less than 0.85Ω/□, a visible light reflectance of not more than 10%, and a visible light transmittance of at least 70%.

Heatable windshield

A coated article includes a substrate and a coating applied over at least a portion of the substrate. The coating includes: a first dielectric layer over at least a portion of the substrate; a first metallic layer over at least a portion of the first dielectric layer; a first primer layer over at least a portion of the first metallic layer; a second dielectric layer over at least a portion of the first primer layer; a second metallic layer over at least a portion of the second dielectric layer; a second primer layer over at least a portion of the second metallic layer; a third dielectric layer over at least a portion of the second primer layer; and an outermost protective layer formed over at least a portion of the third dielectric layer. The coated article wherein the RgL* value is at least 35, and no more than 55. The coated article has a total combined thickness of the metallic layers of at least 10 nanometers, and no more than 30 nanometers.

Article having a high visible light reflectance and a neutral color

A coated article comprising includes a substrate comprising a first surface and second surface opposite the first surface and a coating applied over the surface. The coating includes: a first dielectric layer over at least a portion of the surface; a first metallic layer over at least a portion of the first dielectric layer; a second dielectric layer over at least a portion of the first metallic layer; a second metallic layer over at least a portion of the second dielectric layer; a third dielectric layer over at least a portion of the second metallic layer; a third metallic layer over at least a portion of the third dielectric layer; a fourth dielectric layer over at least a portion of the third metallic layer; an optional fourth metallic layer over at least a portion of the fourth dielectric layer; an optional fifth dielectric layer over at least a portion of the fourth metallic layer; and an outermost protective layer formed over at least a portion of the fourth or fifth dielectric layer. The coated article has a total combined thickness of the metallic layers is at least 10 nanometers, and no more than 60 nanometers.

Coating for a heads-up display with low visible light reflectance

A coated article includes: a substrate; a first dielectric layer over at least a portion of the substrate; a first metallic layer over at least a portion of the first dielectric layer; a first primer layer over at least a portion of the first metallic layer; and a second dielectric layer over at least a portion of the first primer layer; where the first primer layer is selected from the group consisting of zinc, aluminum-doped silver, aluminum zinc, vanadium zinc, tungsten tantalum, titanium niobium, zirconium niobium, tungsten niobium, aluminum niobium, aluminum titanium, tungsten titanium, tantalum titanium, zinc titanium, zinc tin, indium zinc, silver zinc, gallium zinc, indium tin, mixtures thereof, combinations thereof, and alloys thereof.

Low sheet resistance coating

A coated article includes a substrate and a coating over at least a portion of the substrate. The coating includes a first dielectric layer over at least a portion of the substrate; a first metallic layer over at least a portion of the first dielectric layer; a second dielectric layer over at least a portion of the first metallic layer; and an overcoat over at least a portion of the second dielectric layer. A light absorbing layer is between second dielectric layer and the overcoat or is part of the overcoat. The light absorbing layer includes Ge, GeO, Hf, HfO, HfO, NbN, NbNO, SiAl, SiAlO, SiCo, SiCoO, SiCoCu, SiCoCuO, SiCr, SiCrO, SiNi, SiNiO, SiO, SnN, SnO, SnON, TiN, TiNbN, TiNbO, TiNbON, TiON, WO, WO, ZnO:Co, ZnO:Fe, ZnO:Mn, ZnO:Ni, ZnO:V, ZnO:Cr, ZnSn, ZnSnO, or any combination thereof.

Articles coated with coatings containing light absorption materials

A solar cell includes a first substrate having a first surface and a second surface. An underlayer is located over the second surface. A first conductive layer is located over the underlayer. An overlayer is located over the first conductive layer. A semiconductor layer is located over the conductive oxide layer. A second conductive layer is located over the semiconductor layer. The first conductive layer includes a conductive oxide and at least one dopant selected from the group consisting of tungsten, molybdenum, niobium, and/or fluorine.

Article with transparent conductive oxide coating

An article, for example a solar cell, includes a first substrate having a first surface and a second surface. An underlayer is located over the second surface. A first conductive layer is located over the underlayer. An overlayer is located over the first conductive layer. A semiconductor layer is located over the conductive oxide layer. A second conductive layer is located over the semiconductor layer. The first conductive layer can include a conductive oxide and at least one dopant selected from the group consisting of tungsten, molybdenum, niobium, and/or fluorine. The overlayer can include a buffer layer having tin oxide and at least one of zinc, indium, gallium, and magnesium.

A method of making a coated article includes forming a first coating over a first surface of a substrate; and forming a second coating over a second surface of the substrate. The second coating includes a first conductive layer including tin oxide and at least one material selected from the group consisting of tungsten, molybdenum, and niobium.

Article with transparent conductive layer and method of making the same

A method of forming a coating layer on a glass substrate in a glass manufacturing process includes: providing a first coating precursor material for a selected coating layer composition to at least one multislot coater to form a first coating region of the selected coating layer; and providing a second coating precursor material for the selected coating layer composition to the multislot coater to form a second coating region of the selected coating layer over the first region. The first coating precursor material is different than the second precursor coating material.
