An electrochemical device includes a cathode current collector, a first cathode active material layer, a second cathode active material layer and an insulating layer. The first cathode active material layer covers a first portion of a first surface of the cathode current collector, and the insulating layer covers a second portion of the first surface of the cathode current collector that is different from the first portion. A first distance exists between the insulating layer and the first cathode active material layer in a longitudinal direction of the cathode current collector. By providing a gap between the active material layer in a two-layer structure and the insulating layer in the cathode, thereby ensuring the mechanical safety performance of the electrochemical device.

The present application provides a battery cell including a first electrode, a second electrode, and a separator disposed therebetween, wherein the separator comprises an extension portion beyond the first electrode and the second electrode at an end portion of the battery cell. The battery cell further includes an adhesive layer including a body and a connecting portion extending from the body. The body is adhered to the extension portion, and the connecting portion is adhered to the extension portion. It is an object of the present application to provide a battery cell that effectively eliminates invalidation resulted from short circuit caused by the separator shrinkage. The present application further provides an electrochemical device and a method of manufacturing thereof.

This application relates to a battery test system and a battery test method. The battery test system according to an embodiment comprises: an extrusion apparatus configured to be disposed on a first surface of a battery; and a pressure apparatus, disposed above the extrusion apparatus, where the pressure apparatus is configured to apply a predetermined force to the battery in predetermined duration through the extrusion apparatus. The battery test system and the battery test method provided in this application are able to more reasonably evaluate the safety of the soft package battery and identify the risk caused by the defect of the soft package battery.

An electrode assembly including a first electrode plate, a second electrode plate and a separator between the first electrode plate and the second electrode plate. The separator includes an extension portion extending to the outside of the first electrode plate and the second electrode plate in a length direction of the electrode assembly. The extension portion is provided with a glue layer including a first bonding portion extending in a width direction of the electrode assembly. The first bonding portion is parallel to the width direction.

The battery according to one embodiment comprises a battery cell assembly, the battery cell assembly including a first tab and a protection assembly. The protection assembly is connected to the first tab, and comprises a breaker and a first unidirectional conduction element, the breaker and the first unidirectional conduction element are connected in parallel. The battery, the electronic device and the battery pack provided by the embodiments of the present application may achieve overcharge protection on a soft package battery, and may meet a performance requirement of the soft package battery for discharge at large current.

The present disclosure relates to a technical field of cells, and discloses a protection device and a battery. The protection device includes: a first connecting member; a second connecting member; a first element; and an elastic sheet. When the elastic sheet has a temperature lower than a first temperature, the elastic sheet is connected to at least one of the first connecting member and the second connecting member; when the temperature of the elastic sheet is equal to the first temperature, the elastic sheet is deformed to allow the first connecting member, the second connecting member, the elastic sheet and the first element to form a series circuit. When the protection device is not triggered, the temperature of the elastic sheet is lower than the first temperature, and the elastic sheet is connected to at least one of the first connecting member and the second connecting member.

The present application provides an electrode assembly comprising a first electrode comprising a first current collector and a second electrode comprising a second current collector, wherein the first current collector comprises a first surface, the second current collector comprises a second surface, the first surface faces the second surface, and the second surface is provided with a conductive material. It is an object of the present application to provide an electrode assembly for improving short-circuit defects existing in the electrode assembly while ensuring resistance to mechanical abuse. The present application further provides a battery.

Embodiments of the present application provide an electrode assembly including a first electrode plate, a second electrode plate and a separator between the first electrode plate and the second electrode plate. The present application relates to a cathode, an electrochemical device and an electronic device including the same. The cathode includes: a cathode current collector, a first cathode active material layer, a second cathode active material layer and an insulating layer; where the first cathode active material layer covers a first portion of a first surface of the cathode current collector, and the insulating layer covers a second portion of the first surface of the cathode current collector that is different from the first portion, where a first distance exists between the insulating layer and the first cathode active material layer in a longitudinal direction of the cathode current collector. By providing a gap between the active material layer in a two-layer structure and the insulating layer in the cathode, the potential problem of the overlapping of the active material layer in a two-layer structure and the insulating layer on the cathode is alleviated, thereby ensuring that the electrochemical device cannot catch fire and lead to failure in the event of being punctured, and further ensuring the mechanical safety performance of the electrochemical device.

The present invention discloses a cell and a battery, wherein the cell comprises a body including a first electrode tab; and a choke that triggers after the temperature reaches a certain value to reduce the current passing through it; the choke is electrically connected to the first electrode tab, and a product of the length of connection path from the choke to the first electrode tab and a cooling coefficient of the connection path is smaller than a difference between a first temperature of the first electrode tab and a second temperature of the choke, wherein the second temperature of the choke is a temperature when the choke is triggered. In the above-mentioned cell, if the trigger action of the choke is timely, the body of the cell can be prevented from reaching the overcharge state, and the choke in the above-mentioned cell can further effectively protect the cell.

The embodiments of present application provides an electrode assembly and a battery comprising a first current collector including a first end portion, a first bending segment, a first starting segment therebetween; a second current collector including a second end portion, a second bending segment, a second starting segment therebetween; the first and second bending segments are regions where the first and second current collectors are bent for the first time respectively, and a first and second electrode tabs are respectively arranged on the first and second starting segments, a distance between the first electrode tab and the first end portion is smaller than a distance between the first electrode tab and the first bending segment, a distance between the second electrode tab and the second end portion is greater than a distance between the second electrode tab and the second bending segment.
