A refrigeration circuit for a vehicle system includes a compressor, an evaporator, an accumulator, an inlet tube, an outlet tube, and a bypass valve. The inlet tube is configured to deliver refrigerant from the evaporator to the accumulator. The outlet tube is configured to deliver refrigerant from the accumulator to the compressor. The bypass valve is in fluid communication with the inlet and outlet tubes. The bypass valve has an open position and a closed position. The bypass valve is configured to direct refrigerant flow from the inlet tube to the outlet tube to bypass the accumulator when in the open position. The bypass valve is configured to restrict refrigerant from flowing from the inlet tube to the outlet tube when in the closed position.

Accumulator pressure drop regulation system for a heat pump

A heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system for a vehicle may include a housing, a first heat exchanger, a first door, and a second heat exchanger. The housing may include a first inlet branch, a second inlet branch, and an outlet branch. The first door may be adjacent the first heat exchanger and may move from a first position preventing flow to the first heat exchanger to a second position permitting flow to the first heat exchanger. The second heat exchanger may be positioned downstream of the first heat exchanger.

Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system

A heating system including a condenser and an evaporator. A compressor is along a refrigerant line and is configured to compress refrigerant flowing to the condenser. A first valve is along the refrigerant line between the compressor and the condenser. A controller is configured to partially close the first valve when a measured temperature is below a threshold to increase discharge pressure of refrigerant compressed by the compressor and increase heat dissipation of the condenser.

Performance boosted refrigeration heating system

A refrigeration system for a vehicle is provided and includes inside and outside condenser circuits. The inside condenser circuit includes a first valve receiving a first portion of refrigerant out of a compressor, and a cabin condenser receiving and condensing the first portion from the first valve while heating an interior of a cabin. The outside condenser circuit includes: a second valve receiving a second portion of the refrigerant out of the compressor; an outside condenser receiving and compressing the second portion from the second valve; a reservoir downstream from the cabin condenser and the outside condenser receiving the first and second portions; a heat exchanger downstream from the reservoir; and a bypass valve connected in parallel with the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger and the bypass valve receive portions of the refrigerant from the reservoir. A control module controls positions of the first, second and bypass valves.

Vehicle refrigeration system including cabin and outdoor condenser circuits with a holding reservoir and a bypass controlled outside subcool heat exchanger for heating output control of condensers

A refrigerant subcooling system including a water collector configured to collect water condensate from an evaporator. A heat exchanger defines a channel configured to accommodate a refrigerant conduit extending therethrough. The heat exchanger includes a water mist generator connected to the water collector by a water line to receive the water condensate from the water collector. The water mist generator is configured to generate a mist of the water condensate that mixes with air flowing through the channel and along the refrigerant conduit to cool refrigerant therein.

Condensate enhanced subcooler

The present disclosure provides an accumulating/receiving device for a heat pump system. The accumulating/receiving device includes a body, an inlet, a first outlet, and a second outlet. The body defines therein a space. The body is disposed downstream of an outside heat exchanger. The inlet is connected to the outside heat exchanger through a first conduit. The first outlet is connected to an inside heat exchanger through a second conduit. The second outlet is connected, through a bypass conduit, to a third conduit. A liquid of the refrigerant flows out of the body through the first outlet in a cooling mode. A vapor of the refrigerant flows out of the body through the second outlet in a heating mode.

Accumulating/receiving device and heat pump system

An exhaust heat recovery system. The system includes a heat exchanger configured to transfer heat from engine exhaust to a heat transfer fluid. A reservoir is in fluid communication with the heat exchanger. A pump is configured to pump the heat transfer fluid out of the heat exchanger and into the reservoir, and in doing so displace air out of the reservoir to the heat exchanger, when temperature of the heat transfer fluid exceeds a predetermined temperature.

Systems and methods for exhaust heat recovery and heat storage

A system for cooling a battery. The system has a cabin cooling refrigerant pathway including an orifice tube through which refrigerant flows to an evaporator. A battery cooling refrigerant pathway includes a thermal expansion valve (TXV) through which refrigerant flows to a chiller. An accumulator is in receipt of refrigerant from both the cabin cooling refrigerant pathway and the battery cooling refrigerant pathway. A battery coolant loop includes a coolant pathway for directing coolant from the chiller to the battery to cool the battery. The coolant is cooled by the chiller.
