A framework for an automated news recommendation system for financial analysis. The system includes the automated ingestion, relevancy, clustering, and ranking of news events for financial analysts in the capital markets. The framework is adaptable to any form of input news data and can seamlessly integrate with other data used for analysis like financial data.

One of the methods includes receiving an audio input, analyzing the audio input to determine a requested task, determining response data in response to the requested task, determining at least a first part of the response data to be presented as an audio output and at least a second part of the response data to be presented as a visual output, forwarding the first part of the response data to an audio output for presentation to a user, forwarding the second part of the response data to a visual output for presentation to a user; and forwarding to at least one of the audio output and the visual output data describing sources and/or assumptions used to construct the response data.
