The present disclosure proposes a method performed in a communication network () for handing over a user equipment (UE) () from a serving anchor node () to a target anchor node () for user plane traffic and a corresponding network element. The method comprises: transmitting to the target anchor node () a user addition request comprising at least an identifier of the UE (); receiving from the target anchor node () a user addition response indicating that the target anchor node () is ready for handling the user plane traffic for the UE (); and transmitting, to a Software Defined Networking Controller (SDNC) () which serves the UE (), a downlink (DL) traffic steering request for steering DL user plane traffic for the UE () from the serving anchor node () to the target anchor node ().

Method and network element for handover of user plane traffic

A control plane load in a mobile network is managed. The mobile network includes a radio access network having a base station adapted for connecting to a plurality of user equipments (UEs) over a radio interface, and a core network (CN). The RAN determines a RAN control plane load, and transmits an information indicative of the RAN control plane load over a mobility management server to a policy server of the CN to initiate a traffic management in the CN based on the RAN control plane load. Related base stations, mobility management servers, and policy servers are disclosed.

Traffic management in the mobile network

Embodiments of the disclosure provide a method in a source node for transmitting data in an OFDM system in which data are transmitted on frequency bands from the source node to a destination node, the method comprising: selecting a set of frequency bands from available frequency bands in the OFDM system; and transmitting data in frequency domain on the selected set of frequency bands to the destination node. Embodiments of the disclosure further provide a method at a destination node for receiving data in an OFDM system in which data are received on frequency bands from a source node, the method comprising: determining a set of frequency bands of available frequency bands on which data are to be received in frequency domain; and receiving the data on the determined set of frequency bands from the source node. Corresponding apparatuses are also provided.

Method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving data in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing system

A method is provided for performing handover of at least a first User Equipment from a first cell to a second cell in case of failure of the first cell. The first cell is controlled by a first Remote Radio Unit connected to a Main unit, and the second cell is controlled by a second Remote Radio Unit connected to the Main Unit, and the second cell has the same or a larger coverage area as the first cell. The method comprises the steps of monitoring the state of the connection between the first Remote Radio Unit and the Main Unit, and sending handover information to the User Equipment through the second cell using resources assigned for control signalling in said first cell, if the state of the connection between said first Remote Radio Unit and said Main Unit indicates that said first Remote Radio Unit has ceased to be functional
