Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method for random access. The method which may be performed by a terminal device comprises determining a resource overhead for transmission of an uplink shared channel of a message. The message includes data on the uplink shared channel and a random access preamble. The method further comprises transmitting the data on the uplink shared channel of the message to a network node, based at least in part on the determined resource overhead. According to various embodiments of the present disclosure, the resource overhead for message A physical uplink shared channel transmission may be configured flexibly, and the transport block size for message A physical uplink shared channel transmission can be determined adaptively.

Method and apparatus for random access

A method, system and network node are disclosed. According to one or more embodiments, a parent network node configured to communicate with a network node is provided. The parent network node is configured to, and/or includes a radio interface and/or includes processing circuitry configured to: enable a first timing configuration, wherein the first timing configuration enables downlink transmission timing for the network node to be aligned with the downlink transmission timing of the parent network node; and based on the first timing configuration, switch to a second timing configuration, wherein the second timing configuration enables uplink transmission timing of the network node to be aligned with the downlink transmission timing of the network node.

Further, the wireless device determines an MsgB RNTI as the sum of a first identity, RA-RNTI, and an offset that is an integer greater than 1, wherein the RA-RNTI is based on a sum comprising terms corresponding to at least the index of a first OFDM symbol, the index of a frequency resource, and the index of a first time slot that identifies the time/frequency resources of the random access occasion.

Wireless device, a network node, and methods therein for determining an identity of a wireless device during a random access procedure

Methods, a base station, and a terminal device for a two-step random access procedure are disclosed. The base station transmits a first message indicating a subcarrier spacing (SCS) of a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) which is to be used for a second message in the two-step random access procedure, through an air interface. The SCS of the PUSCH is same as an SCS used for message 3 in a four-step random access procedure. The base station receives the second message based on the SCS of the PUSCH through the air interface in the two-step random access procedure.

Methods, base station and terminal device for two-step random access procedure

A UE is provided with a dedicated preamble for use in a two-step random access procedure, as well as dedicated, contention-free PUSCH transmission resources for the PUSCH part of msgA. In one embodiment, the base station transmits a partial PUSCH msgA configuration to the UE using dedicated RRC signaling. In another embodiment, the base station transmits a resource index to the UE indicative of a dedicated PUSCH resource for a msgA transmission via dedicated RRC signaling.

Two-step random access

Buffer Status Reports (BSR), by which the network is made aware of uplink transmission needs of wirless devices, are specifically enabled to be transmitted using 2-step Random Access (RA), to reduce latency and network resource use. In one embodiment, 2-step RA configurations tailored to BSR-transmissions are introduced. These may, for example, use a subset of the configured resources in the configured 2-step RA resources for BSR. In another embodiment, conditions for triggering BSR over 2-step RA, depending on the traffic, are introduced. For example, the priority or the the delay budget of the traffic may be used to determine whether a BSR over 2-step RA should be triggered. In another embodiment, simplified procedures when receiving the response to MsgA are introduced. These may include, for example, not transmitting a full MsgB, but rather having the UE receive an UL grant.

Efficient buffer status reporting over 2-step RA

Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method for random access. The method which may be performed by a terminal device comprises performing a transmission of a message to a network node in a random access procedure. The transmission of the message may comprise transmission of a preamble and transmission of a payload on a shared channel. The method further comprises receiving a response message from the network node. In response to the response message, the terminal device may perform a retransmission of the payload on the shared channel to the network node according to retransmission configuration.

Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method for random access. The method which may be performed by a terminal device comprises performing a first transmission of a message from the terminal device to a network node in a random access procedure, according to first configuration information. The first transmission of the message comprises a transmission of a first preamble and a transmission of a payload on a shared channel. The method further comprises performing a second transmission of the message from the terminal device to the network node in the random access procedure, according to second configuration information. The second transmission of the message comprises at least one of: a transmission of a second preamble and a retransmission of the payload on the shared channel.

The present disclosure described systems and methods for providing OTT services to a UE. An exemplary OTT-providing host computer includes a transceiver, a processor, and memory collective configured to provide the OTT service by initiating transmission of user data to the UE. To transmit the user data from the host computer to the wireless device, a network node sends a first control message for assigning a PDSCH, the first control message comprising a first MCS indication as described. The network node sends to the wireless device a second control message for assigning a PDSCH, the second control message comprising a second MCS indication as described. The network node transmits the user data thereafter.

Methods and systems for performance enhancement of downlink shared channels

A system and method for providing time domain allocations in a communication system. In an embodiment, an apparatus operable in a communication system and including processing circuitry is configured to receive an indication of a time domain allocation in downlink control information associated with a radio network temporary identifier ('RNTI') identifying the apparatus, and employ the time domain allocation associated with the RNTI for transmissions associated with the apparatus. In another embodiment, an apparatus operable in a communication system and including processing circuitry is configured to associate a time domain allocation with a RNTI identifying a user equipment, and provide an indication of the time domain allocation in downlink control information to allow the user equipment to employ the time domain allocation associated with the RNTI for transmissions associated therewith.

System and method for providing time domain allocations in a communication system

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide methods, apparatus and computer program products for transmitting and receiving an uplink signal on physical control channel. A method comprises: determining that a terminal device has a capability of transmitting the uplink signal on physical control channel in at least a first time instant and a second time instant coherently; performing a first transmission of the uplink signal on physical control channel in the first time instant in a first set of subcarriers; and performing a second transmission of the uplink signal on physical control channel in the second time instant in a second set of subcarriers.
