This application provides a power configuration method and an apparatus, so that a terminal device is enabled to allocate as much uplink transmit power as possible to a first port, and allocate first transmit power as transmit power of a second port, so that total transmit power of the terminal device reaches calculated transmit power indicated by a network device for sending; or both the first port and the second port are enabled to be used to perform sending by using respective maximum transmit power supported by the first port and the second port, so that receive power of the network device to receive an uplink signal is maximized, thereby improving uplink performance.

Power configuration method and apparatus

A cell selection method, related to the communications field, includes a terminal device sending a first request to a network device, where the first request is used to request to select a serving cell for the terminal device in an energy efficiency first manner. The terminal device sends first information to the network device, where the first information is used by the network device to select a cell in a first communications system or a cell in a second communications system for the terminal device. The terminal device receives configuration information of a serving cell from the network device, where the serving cell is selected by the network device from the cell in the first communications system or the cell in the second communications system in a manner that energy efficiency of the terminal device is first.

Cell selection method and apparatus

A beam selection method and a communication apparatus are provided, which relate to the field of communication technologies. The method includes: A terminal receives a downlink reference signal from a third beam of a network device on a first beam and a second beam; then, the terminal performs RSRP measurement and MPE measurement on the first beam and the second beam separately to obtain first RSRP, second RSRP, first back-off power, and second back-off power; and when a difference between the first RSRP and the first back-off power is greater than a difference between the second RSRP and the first back-off power, the terminal sends uplink data by using the first beam. In this technical solution, the terminal may select an uplink working beam with reference to the measured back-off power of the first beam and the measured back-off power of the second beam.
