A cathode structure of a fuel cell is disclosed. The cathode structure comprises a cathode diffusion layer, wherein an air permeability adjusting structure is arranged around the cathode diffusion layer, and the cathode air permeability of the air permeability adjusting structure gradually varies in the flow direction of fluid. According to the cathode structure of a fuel cell, by means of arranging the air permeability adjusting structure, with variable cathode air permeability around the cathode diffusion layer, the difference caused by different temperatures and humidity is subtly compensated for, thus improving the problem of water accumulation or dehydration in a cathode structure of a fuel cell, and effectively improving the water management of the fuel cell.

A method for assembling a fuel cell humidifier can include steps of providing a first humidifier plate and a humidifier membrane. The first humidifier plate can have a first top plate surface. The humidifier membrane can have a bottom membrane surface. The bottom membrane surface of the humidifier membrane can be disposed on the first top plate surface of the first humidifier plate. The first humidifier plate can be partially melted. This can permit the first top plate surface of the first humidifier plate to permeate into the bottom membrane surface of the humidifier membrane. The first humidifier plate can be cooled, which can fuse the first top plate surface of the first humidifier plate with the bottom membrane surface of the humidifier membrane.

Each of the plurality of modules include a boost system. Only one converter is necessary to utilize each of the fuel cell and the capacitor. The single converter can have a capacity to convert power greater than the energy of the fuel cell, but the total output power of the converter is less than the total energy provided by the fuel cell and the capacitor combined. The modular boost converter utilizes internal module switching to selectively draw energy from at least one of the fuel cell and the capacitor.

The coolant side of the formed cathode half plate has support features that can be different from and need not correspond with cathode flow channels formed on the opposite reactant side. The coolant side of the stamped metal anode half plate has lands corresponding with anode channels formed on the opposite oxidant side. The lands define a plurality of coolant channels on the coolant side of the stamped metal anode half plate and abut the coolant side of the formed cathode half plate.

The present invention discloses a hydrogen supply apparatus and a method for operating the apparatus, which can protect a fuel cell and extend the service life of a fuel cell. The hydrogen supply apparatus includes a large-capacity hydrogen storage apparatus, a small-capacity hydrogen storage apparatus, a second shut-off valve, and a pressure reducing valve, etc. The small-capacity hydrogen storage apparatus is automatically filled with fuel gas when the fuel cell is operating, and when the fuel cell is in standby mode, fuel gas is transferred into the fuel cell by controlling the opening and closing time and the period of the second shut-off valve, so that protection of the fuel cell and extension of the fuel cell life are realized.
