A method and system for protecting integrated optoelectronic devices are disclosed. The method includes (1) providing standby light source links of fixed wavelength and their corresponding standby data channel in a transmitting-end integrated optoelectronic device; (2) detecting whether there is failure in each active light source link in the transmitting-end integrated optoelectronic device; and (3) selecting a standby light source link having a fixed wavelength and its corresponding standby data channel for accomplishing service transmission of failed active light source link and its corresponding active data channel when detecting failure of an active light source link. The system includes a transmitting-end integrated optoelectronic device and a receiving-end integrated optoelectronic device.

Method and system for protecting integrated optoelectronic devices

A time delay adjustment method is provided, which includes the following steps. A same scrambling signal is added into two received signals. The added scrambling signals are then extracted. A delay difference between the two signals is detected according to a difference between the two extracted scrambling signals. The delay difference between the two signals is adjusted by delaying one or both of the two signals. Furthermore, a time delay adjustment device and an optical transmission apparatus are also provided. Therefore, time delay can be adjusted online, and real-time monitoring and adjustment of delay difference is also achieved.

An apparatus for generating a dispersion compensation signal includes a splitting module for splitting a data signal to be transmitted into N channels of data signals; N pre-processing modules for adjusting in frequency domain the phases and amplitudes of the N channels of data signals and outputting N channels of pre-warped electrical signals; an optical carrier generating module for generating N channels of coherent optical carriers; N electro-optic modulators for modulating the N channels of coherent optical carriers based on the N channels of pre-warped electrical signals and generating N channels of pre-warped optical signals; an optical coupling module for coupling the N channels of pre-warped optical signals into a dispersion compensation optical signal. By pre-processing the data signals, the present disclosure may allow the use of existing devices to generate a dispersion compensation signal so that the bandwidth requirement set by prior art on the electrical device is reduced.

Method and apparatus for generating a dispersion compensation signal

The present invention discloses a method for detecting dispersion, overcoming disadvantages of complex configuration and insensitivity to a tiny dispersion of the method and device for detecting dispersion in the prior art. The inventive method includes: obtaining a signal within a predetermined bandwidth range from an optical signal received; obtaining an operated value of power via an operation on the signal within the predetermined bandwidth range; and obtaining amount of system dispersion according to a corresponding relation between the operated value of power and the amount of system dispersion. A device for detecting dispersion is disclosed, including a photoelectric filter operational unit and a processing unit, where an output of the photoelectric filter operational unit is connected to an input of the processing unit. The device for detecting dispersion of the present invention is applicable to an adaptive dispersion compensation system. An optical signal transmission system is further disclosed.

An optoelectronic integrated apparatus, including a plurality of working optical source links, at least one spare optical source link, at least one spare data channel, and a protection control unit for detecting whether there is any working optical source link faulty. When detecting that a working optical source link is faulty, controlling a spare optical source link whose emission wavelength is the same as the faulty working optical source link to fulfill the functions of the faulty working optical source link and switching a data signal from the working data channel to a spare data channel. The spare optical source link is adapted to modulate the optical signal using the data signal from the spare data channel, and transmits the modulated optical signal. Reliability of the optoelectronic integrated apparatus is enhanced without increasing the maintenance cost.

System and method for m-ary phase shifting keying modulation. According to an embodiment, the present invention provides a method for performing m-ary phase-keying shift modulation. The method includes providing at least a first signal and a second signal by a signal source. The first signal and the second signal are characterized by a first signal strength level. The method also includes attenuating the second signal to provide a third signal. The second signal are characterized by a second signal strength level which is at approximate 50% of the first signal strength level. The method additionally includes coupling the first signal to a first bias voltage to provide a fourth signal. Furthermore, the method includes coupling the third signal to a second bias voltage to provide a fifth signal. The method also includes a step for providing a sixth signal by combing the fourth signal and the fifth signal.
