Systems and methods for balancing a pair of battery cells are described. A controller can determine a voltage difference based on a first voltage of a first battery cell and a second voltage of a second battery cell. The controller can determine a current difference between current of an inductor and a current limit of the inductor, where the inductor can be connected to a node between the first and second battery cells. The controller can identify at least one switching elements among a plurality of switching elements based on the voltage difference and the current difference. The controller can activate the identified switching elements to perform battery cell balancing between the first battery cell and the second battery cell.

Bi-directional active battery cell balancer and method for bi-directional cell balancing

Exemplary embodiments may include a device with an input power component, a system supply component, an inductive charger component operatively coupled to the input component and the system component, and a direct charger component operatively coupled to the inductive charger and the system component. Exemplary embodiments may further include an input node of the inductive charger component and an input node of the direct charger component operatively coupled to an output node of the input power component at a first device node. Exemplary embodiments may also include a method of receiving an input power signal, obtaining a charging condition, entering a first charging state, in accordance with the obtained charging condition satisfying a first charging condition, and entering a second charging state, in accordance with the obtained charging condition satisfying a second charging condition.

Inductive charger apparatus with multiple charging paths and method for charging therewith

Example implementations include obtaining charging power from a power source, obtaining a charging command, activating a trickle current to a battery, entering a first charging state in response to a condition that a voltage of the battery does not satisfy a deep discharge threshold, and entering a second charging state in response to a condition that a voltage of the battery satisfies a deep discharge threshold. Example implementations can further include supplying the trickle current in a burst to the battery in response to a condition that the voltage of the battery does not satisfy a fuel gauge threshold, upon entering the second charging state. Example implementations can further include supplying the trickle current continuously to the battery in response to a condition that the voltage of the battery satisfies the fuel gauge threshold, upon entering the second charging state.

Device and method for charging a battery discharged beyond at least one operating threshold

Example implementations include a method of obtaining an input voltage of a power converter circuit and a system voltage of the power converter circuit, obtaining a voltage rate gain based on an aggregate inductance of the power converter circuit, and in accordance with a determination that the input voltage and the system voltage are not equal, generating a rate offset voltage based on the voltage rate gain and the system voltage difference. Example implementations also include a device with a rate predictor device operatively coupled to an input voltage node and a system voltage node, and configured to obtain an input voltage of a power converter circuit and a system voltage of the power converter circuit, configured to obtain a voltage rate gain based on an aggregate inductance of the power converter circuit, and configured to, in accordance with a determination that the input voltage and the system voltage are not equal, generate a rate offset voltage based on the voltage rate gain and the system voltage difference.

Exemplary implementations include dynamically compensating a system voltage by determining an actual load current based on a sense voltage across a sense resistor and a resistance of the sense resistor, the sense resistor being operatively coupled to a system node, generating a gain current based on the actual load current and a predetermined load current, determining a gain voltage based on a system gain and the gain current, and generating a compensation voltage based on a predetermined system voltage at a system node, an actual system voltage at the system node, and the gain voltage.
