The present application relates to a hand-held garment steamer () comprising a steam generating chamber () having a surface () and a heater () to heat the surface () such that water fed onto the surface () is converted into steam. The hand-held garment steamer () further comprises a scale collection chamber () having an opening (). The surface () and opening () are positioned relative to each other and configured so that when the garment steamer () is in a first orientation (A) in which the surface () extends downwardly away from the opening (), water fed onto the surface () flows away from the opening () to be evaporated from the surface (). When the garment steamer () is in a second orientation (B) in which the surface () extends downwardly towards the opening (), scale dislodged from the surface () falls into the scale collection chamber () through the opening (). The scale collection chamber () is located below the steam generating chamber () in both the first orientation (A) and the second orientation (B). The present application also relates to a garment steaming system () comprising the hand-held garment steamer ().

The present invention relates to a device () for generating steam. The device () comprises a plate () forming a surface, and a heating element () to heat the plate () to a predetermined temperature being at least above water evaporation temperature. The plate () is inclined at an angle compared to the horizontal direction to define an upper end and a lower end. The device () also comprises a water inlet arrangement () for dispensing water onto the plate () proximate the upper end, a control unit () to control the flow of water dispensed onto the plate (), and a scale collection container () disposed adjacent to the plate (). The control unit () is configured to control the flow of water dispensed onto the plate () and the temperature of the plate () so that substantially all the water dispensed onto the plate () evaporates before it reaches the lower end () of the plate (). This invention allows an easy scale collection, thanks to the inclination angle of the plate's surface that causes the dislodged scale to travel down the plate's surface toward the lower end of the plate and, ultimately, into the container.

Method and device for generating steam comprising a scale container and steamer appliance with such a device

The invention relates to a spray nozzle comprising an elastomeric tube () comprising a proximal end () through which a fluid is intended to enter said tube (), and a distal end (). The spray nozzle also comprises a slit () formed in the elastomeric tube () between the proximal end () and the distal end (), for spraying the fluid out from the elastomeric tube (). The elastomeric tube () includes a reinforcing element () for limiting deformation of the elastomeric tube (). By providing a slit in a tube between the proximal and distal ends of the tube, the slit can be sized to provide a broad spread pattern to the spray. The reinforcing element prevents over-expansion or deformation of the elastomeric tube.
