A fitness machine operable by a user. The fitness machine has a base and a mobile portion that moves relative to the base during operation. A resilient body resists movement of the mobile portion towards the base in a height direction. The resilient body has a length defined in a length direction that is perpendicular to the height direction. The length of the resilient body increases when the mobile portion moves towards the base. An end stop is operable to prevent the length of the resilient body from increasing beyond a set maximum. The end stop is moveable to adjust the set maximum for the length of the resilient body, where a resistance provided by the resilient body to resist movement of the mobile portion towards the base is unaffected by moving the end stop when the length of the resilient member is less than the set maximum.

Systems and methods for adjusting a stiffness of fitness machines

A fitness machine providing shock absorption for a user operating the fitness machine. The fitness machine includes a base and a mobile portion engageable by the user and moveable relative to the base during operation of the fitness machine. A resilient body resists movement of the mobile portion towards the base in a height direction, where the resilient body has first and second ends defining a length therebetween, and where the length is defined in a length direction that is perpendicular to the height direction. A stop wall is engageable by the resilient body, where the length of the resilient body increases when the mobile portion moves towards the base until the second end engages with the stop wall. The resilient body provides shock absorption for the user.

Disclosed are anti-erosion oral care formulations and methods that provide erosion protection while maintaining adequate cleaning performance. The anti-erosion oral care formulations include a copolymer of a methylvinyl ether and a maleic anhydride and a metal compound or salt that becomes more soluble at acidic pH.

An exercise device includes a linkage assembly that links a driving member to a driven member such that circular rotation of the driving member causes generally equal circular rotation of the driven member. The linkage assembly includes a linking member, a first crank arm that connects the driving member to the linking member such that rotation of the driving member causes motion of the linking member, and a second crank arm that connects the linking member to the driven member such that the motion of the linking member causes rotation of the driven member. At least one additional crank arm connects the linking member at a rotational axis that is laterally offset from a straight line through the first and second crank arm rotational axes.

An exercise assembly comprises elongated first and second rocker arms that pivot with respect to each other in a scissors-like motion about a first pivot axis. A slider has a slider body that slides along a linear axis extending through and perpendicular to the first pivot axis. A linkage pivotally couples the first and second rocker arms to the slider body. Pivoting the first and second rocker arms with respect to each other causes the slider body to slide in a first direction along the linear axis. Opposite pivoting of the first and second rocker arms with respect to each other causes the slider body to slide in an opposite, second direction along the linear axis.
