According to an example aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method comprising, receiving, from a first data endpoint of a radio access network, a representation of a local model of the first data endpoint of the radio access network, determining multiple common models for endpoints of the radio access network, selecting, based on the representation of the local model of the first data endpoint, one of said multiple common models for the first data endpoint and transmitting the selected common model to the first data endpoint, any other data endpoint or any other external system which utilizes the selected common model.

Machine learning in radio access networks

An apparatus and a method are provided for multiplexing different sessions using the same authorized contexts for media. The method includes distinguishing different control plane sessions by a user equipment, and identifying media flows of a same application among the different control plane sessions by the user equipment by setting a service identifier. The method further includes sending the service identifier by the user equipment to a call state control function including a policy decision function, and authorizing quality of service for a user plane context by the policy decision function. Furthermore, the method includes enabling, by the policy decision function based on the service identifier, the different control plane sessions with media flows of the same application to share the same user plane context with the authorized quality of service to multiplex the different control plane sessions with media flows of the same application.

Multiplexing media components of different sessions

In a packet data transmission and reception system, a media access control (MAC) message is broadcast by a base station to a plurality of mobile stations. The MAC message contains packet data transmission scheduling information which allows the base station to preemptively control mobile station access to traffic channels in order to maximize the efficiency of packet data transmissions and allow scheduling consideration including priority access, quality of service and maximum bytes per transfer. The MAC message consists of a control frame structure, which comprises scheduling parameters including MAC IDs fields, activity fields, and a field representing the number of free traffic channels in a cell. These parameters enable multiple mobile stations to share, in a time multiplexed fashion, traffic channels for packet data transmission on CDMA based mobile communication systems.

The invention relates to a data transmission in a digital mobile communication system. In a mobile communication system employing a so-called multi-channel access technique, one or more traffic channels may be allocated to a mobile station (MS) for data transfer, in accordance with the data transfer rate required by the application using the mobile station. In the invention, a data call is determined minimum and maximum requirements for the data transfer rate of the user data. A mechanism for controlling connection parameters for a communication connection between network elements is disclosed. A method for transmitting data from a radio network subsystem to user equipment in a mobile telephone system, a radio network subsystem and user equipment. In the method, the radio network subsystem transmits a dedicated control channel to the user equipment and a dedicated traffic channel of variable data transmission rate to the user equipment. During transmission, the radio network subsystem spreads each channel with a spreading code, and the spreading code used to spread the traffic channel is changed according to the required data transmission rate. A method and system for transmitting packet data over a cellular telecommunications network is presented. A novel medium access control (MAC) logical layer is implemented between a service option layer and multiplex sublayer. The MAC layer handles the multiple accesses of packet users over selected dedicated traffic channels. The MAC layer provides a multiple access control function for packet data users only.
