A support stand includes a bracket and a base connected with the bracket. The bracket includes a main body, a movable member, and a resilient member. The main body defines a receiving slot therein, and the movable member is partially received in the receiving slot, with opposite ends of the resilient member resisting the main body and the movable member. The base includes a latching member sleeved on the main body of the bracket. The latching member includes a latching portion for impelling and guiding the movable member to be received in the receiving slot of the main body, and the movable member to contact the resilient member. After the movable member passes over the latching portion, an elastic force created by the resilient member extends the movable member from the receiving slot of the main body, and the movable member is latched in the base.

A support stand for a flat-panel display monitor includes a hinge assembly and a support structure having a top end partially receiving the hinge assembly. The hinge assembly includes a first latching module. The first latching module includes an elastic member and a movable plate connected to the elastic member. The support structure includes a second latching module detachably connected to the first latching module. The second latching module includes a positioning plate having a latching portion extending from a bottom surface thereof. The latching portion is capable of latching with the movable plate. When the movable plate is pressed, the elastic member is deformed so that the second latching module is detached from the first latching module.

An exemplary support stand for a flat-panel display monitor, includes a base member, an elevating mechanism, and a rotatable mechanism. The elevating mechanism includes a support member and an elevating member. The support member is fixed on the base member. The elevating member is slidably connected to the support member. The rotatable mechanism includes a rotatable body. The rotatable body is rotatably positioned on the elevating member.
