An automated arrangement for parsing location descriptions is provided in which semantic verification is integrated into a parsing process to reduce the generation of false results. The semantic verification involves checking up to three semantic relationships between keywords (i.e., syntactical components) parsed from the location description in a tokenization process to determine if a tokenization result is valid. The semantic relationships include: a) a spatial 'part-of' relationship between location keywords; b) a spatial 'near-by' relationship; and, c) a spatial &#x201c;intersect&#x201d; relationship. The semantic relationships between particular locations may be pre-calculated and stored as extended vocabulary to enable the semantic verification to occur early in the parsing process to thus increase overall parsing efficiency. The results of the parsing are sorted based on a rank score that is derived using the semantic relationships between the locations.

Semantic relationship-based location description parsing

Published resources are made available in an encrypted form, using corresponding resource keys, published through resource key files, with the publications effectively restricted to authorized peer systems only by encrypting the resource keys in a manner only the authorized peer systems are able to recover them. In one embodiment, the resource keys are encrypted using encryption public keys of the authorized peer systems or the groups to which the authorized peer system are members. In one embodiment, the encryption public keys of individual or groups of authorized peer systems are published for resource publishing peer systems through client and group key files respectively. Group encryption private keys are made available to the group members through published group key files. Further, advanced features including but not limited to resource key file inheritance, password protected publication, obfuscated publication, content signing, secured access via gateways, and secured resource search are supported.

Driving directions can be helpful if in addition to spatial information, landmark information is provided. Landmarks assist in adding context to directions as well as allowing for a greater likelihood of success of an operator following directions. There can be employment of physical identification of landmarks as well as processing regarding the utility of a landmark in regards to driving directions. Driving directions can be highly useful if integrated landmarks relate to knowledge possessed by an operator of a vehicle. Landmark based driving direction can be integrated with advertisements that relate to the directions.
