A vehicle control system includes a vehicle with a vehicle controller and an electric drive motor, and a portable user device. The portable user device includes a user interface and processor configured to perform a verification process to verify that the portable user device has access to the vehicle, wirelessly connect to the vehicle via a wireless transceiver of the portable user device in response to the portable user device being verified, display a control interface for the vehicle on the user interface of the portable user device in response to connecting to the vehicle, receive an input through the control interface regarding operation of the electric drive motor, and provide a command to the vehicle controller based on the input to facilitate remote operation of the electric drive motor.

Vehicle control system

A mixer vehicle includes a mixer drum, a first acceleration sensor, a second acceleration sensor, and a controller. The first acceleration sensor is configured to produce first acceleration signals and the second acceleration sensor is configured to measure accelerations within the mixer drum to produce second acceleration signals. The controller is configured to receive the first acceleration signals from the first acceleration sensor and second acceleration signals from the second acceleration sensor. The controller is further configured to determine a presence of material within the mixer drum based on the first acceleration signals and the second acceleration signals. The controller is further configured to determine one or more properties of the material within the mixer drum based on the first acceleration signals and the second acceleration signals.

Concrete sensor system

A refuse vehicle includes a first controller area network (CAN) bus for body functions of the refuse vehicle. The refuse vehicle also includes multiple controllable elements of a body of the refuse vehicle communicably coupled with the first CAN bus. The refuse vehicle includes a second CAN bus for chassis functions of the refuse vehicle. The refuse vehicle includes multiple controllable elements of a chassis of the refuse vehicle communicably coupled with the second CAN bus. The refuse vehicle includes a telematics module communicably coupled with both the first CAN bus and the second CAN bus. The telematics module is configured to monitor communications on both the first CAN bus and the second CAN bus and transmit the communications to a cloud computing system. The first CAN bus and the second CAN bus are communicatively separate and do not communicate with each other directly.

The controller is configured to receive an indication, based on the object detection data, that an object is within the range of locations, in response to the indication that the object is within the range of locations, determine an initial location of the object relative to the body and determine if the object is an obstacle or a refuse container, and control operation of the refuse collection arm by limiting movement of the refuse collection arm to a grabbing position.

A drum control system includes one or more processing circuits having programed instructions to control a drum assembly to rotate a drum at a first, unmixed speed to mix drum contents received by the drum where the drum contents including ingredients of a concrete mixture, acquire drum contents data indicative of a property of the drum contents from a mixture sensor and monitor the property of the drum contents as the drum rotates, acquire a target property for the drum contents upon delivery, determine a second, mixed speed based at least partially on the target property, and control the drum assembly to rotate the drum at the second, mixed speed in response to determining that the property of the drum contents indicates that the ingredients have been sufficiently mixed.

A refuse vehicle includes a battery configured to provide electrical energy to drive at least one of a plurality of wheels, a vehicle body supported by the chassis and defining a receptacle for storing refuse therein, and an electric power take-off system including a motor configured to power to a hydraulic system in response to receiving the electrical energy from the battery, an inverter configured to provide the electrical energy to the motor from the battery, a sensor configured to detect thermal energy within the inverter, and a controller configured to receive data from the sensor, wherein the controller is further configured to determine if the data from the sensor is greater than a critical operating condition and reduce a rate of electrical energy supplied to the motor in response to determining that the data from the sensor is greater than the critical operating condition.

System and method for electronic power take-off controls

A refuse vehicle includes a chassis, an energy storage device, a body, a first electric power take-off system, and a second electric power take-off system. The energy storage device is supported by the chassis and is configured to provide electrical power to a prime mover. Activation of the prime mover selectively drives the refuse vehicle. The body is supported by the chassis. The first electric power take-off system is coupled to at least one of the body and the chassis, and includes a first motor that is configured to drive a first hydraulic pump to convert electrical power received from the energy storage device into hydraulic power. The second electric power take-off system is coupled to at least one of the body and the chassis, and includes a second motor that is configured to drive a second hydraulic pump to convert electrical power received from the energy storage device into hydraulic power.

Control system for a refuse vehicle

A cloud computing system for digital twinning a telehandler or a boom lift and a controller. The telehandler or boom lift may include a sensor, a device, and an electronic control system. The cloud computing system is configured to receive multiple datasets, including from at least one of the sensor, the device, or the electronic control system of the telehandler. The cloud computing system is also configured to generate a virtual telehandler or boom lift based on the datasets. The virtual telehandler or boom lift includes a visual representation of the telehandler or boom lift and the datasets. The controller is also configured to operate a display of a user device to provide the visual representation of the telehandler and one or more of the datasets to a user.

Systems and methods for a virtual vehicle

The disconnect is positioned between the energy storage device and the electric power take-off system and is configured to selectively decouple the electric power take-off system from the energy storage device.

A refuse vehicle includes a chassis, a first energy storage device, a body, an electric power take-off system, and a subsystem coupled to the body and moveable using hydraulic power from the electric power take-off system. The first energy storage device (e.g., a battery) is supported by the chassis and is configured to provide electrical power to a prime mover. Activation of the prime mover selectively drives the refuse vehicle. The body is configured for storing refuse, and is supported by the chassis. The electric power take-off system is positioned on the body and includes an electric motor, a second energy storage device configured to provide electric power to the electric motor, and a hydraulic pump that is drive by the electric motor. The electric motor drives the hydraulic pump to convert the electrical power into hydraulic power.
