The system comprises a processor, a non-transitory memory, a thermodynamic modeling application stored in the non-transitory memory that, when executed by the processor, models carbon dioxide (CO) material in the well using a carbon dioxide equation of state (EoS) to determine thermodynamic properties of the COmaterial, and a downhole environment modeling application stored in the non-transitory memory that, when executed by the processor determines temperatures of and pressures at well components at each of a plurality of points of a casing string design based in part on the thermodynamic properties of the COmaterial determined by the thermodynamic modeling application, and provides the temperatures of well components and pressures in the casing string at each of the plurality of points of the casing string to a casing string strength analysis application executing on the computer system.

The system can output, via a user interface, the pack off indicator and a subset of the caving parameters for use in adjusting a wellbore operation. A method for designing a borehole tubular for use in a borehole. Corrosion prediction for integrity assessment of metal tubular structures

The disclosure presents processes for improving the design phase of plastic material lined tubular structures used downhole of a borehole. A plastic material lined tubular structure model is utilized for tubular structures that have a metal layer, a grout layer, and a plastic material layer. The model can use a modified wall thickness for the metal layer. A strength model can be applied to the modified critical dimensions, e.g., wall thickness parameters. A thermal model can be applied to the tubular structure to determine pressure and temperature parameters. The strength model and the thermal model outputs can be utilized by a stress analyzer to determine loads, safety factors, and design limit parameters. The plastic material lined tubular structure model can enable more efficient use of tubular structures, designing a longer operational lifetime, such as in acidic environments, or the use of thinner structures while maintaining a satisfactory operational lifetime.

A system can determine a temperature profile based on a prior production temperature profile and a reference start point pressure for a well. The system can virtually divide the well into a plurality of sections including uphill sections and downhill sections. The system can determine a gas-oil interface depth for each section of the plurality of sections from a water-oil ratio and a gas-oil ratio based on the temperature profile and the reference start point pressure. The system can determine an oil-water interface depth for each section of the plurality of sections from the gas-oil ratio and the water-oil ratio based on the temperature profile and the reference start point pressure.

The disclosed embodiments include a method, apparatus, and computer program product configured to performing automated downhole wellbore trajectory control for correcting between an actual wellbore trajectory path and a planned wellbore trajectory path. For example, in one embodiment, a PID controller is configured to obtain real-time data gathered during the drilling operation, determine whether the actual wellbore trajectory path deviates from the planned wellbore trajectory path, and automatically initiate the downhole wellbore trajectory control to change the actual wellbore trajectory path to a modified correction path that is determined using a minimum incremental wellbore energy method.

System and methods for optimizing wellbore tubular design are provided. Design parameters for a wellbore tubular component are determined based on different types of axial loads expected during a downhole operation. The design parameters include load conditions at load points along the tubular component. An equivalent axial load is calculated for each load point, based on the corresponding load conditions. Design limits for the different types of axial loads are determined based on associated design parameters. A counter-load pressure is determined for at least one load point selected for each type of axial load, based on the corresponding equivalent axial load for each load point and a corresponding design limit for each type of axial load. At least one of the design limits is adjusted for the different types of axial loads, based on the counter-load pressure of the selected load point for each type of axial load.
