An apparatus provides an extendable rail assembly including a track for securing to a rack, a first rail slidably coupled to the track, and a second rail slidably coupled to the first rail. The first rail is movable relative to the track between retracted and extended positions, wherein the first rail includes first and second rail sections coupled together by a pivot joint. The second rail is movable relative to the first rail between retracted and extended positions. Furthermore, with the first rail in the extended position and the second rail in the extended position, the pivot joint allows the second rail and the second rail section of the first rail to pivot relative to the track and the first rail section of the first rail. A pair of rail assemblies may be secured to a rack to support a member, such as a server.

A tool-less heat spreader for dissipating heat produced by an electrical computing component includes a first clamp member having a first component interface end and an opposite, first lever end; and a second clamp member having a second component interface end and an opposite, second lever end; where the first clamp member and the second clamp member are biasedly coupled to one another and such movement of at least one of the first lever end and the second lever end at least partially overcomes the bias and moves the first and second component interface ends away from one another.

Tool-less and reusable heat spreader

Transportation packaging may be used to ship or transport a product, such as an electronic device. The transportation packaging may be reused subsequent to the transport of the product by removing a shape defined by a pattern included on the transportation packaging, assembling or altering a portion of the removed pattern, and engaging the assembled pattern with the product. In a particular embodiment, the assembled pattern may provide a usability surface for at least one peripheral device to be used with the electronic device.

A connector for data transfer is provided. The connector comprises a connector body having a coupling mechanism, and a communication module for communicating with a first data processing device and a second data processing device. The communication module is arranged with respect to the connector body such that upon the coupling mechanism being coupled to the first data processing device, the communication module is positioned with respect to the first data processing device to effect close-range wireless communication between them to enable a data transfer between the first and second data processing device. A data processing system and a method of carrying out data transfer between a first and second data processing device are also provided.

A device, method and computer program product are provided for unlocking a touchscreen. In response to entering a touchscreen unlocking interface, a slide-to-unlock button is displayed on a touchscreen at its initial position, wherein the slide-to-unlock button is divided into two portions. In response to pressing a first portion of the slide-to-unlock button and sliding the slide-to-unlock button along a specified trace, information about a position of the slide-to-unlock button on the specified trace is displayed on a second portion of the slide-to-unlock button. In response to performing a first action on the pressed first portion of the slide-to-unlock button, information about a position of the slide-to-unlock button on the specified trace when the first action is performed on the first portion of the slide-to-unlock button is received.

Privately unlocking a touchscreen

A system is configured to portray information about at least one electronic module in an enclosure, including at least the positions of components in the electronic module. A projection device has a projection element, a first networking circuit configured to communicate with a server, and a first processor circuit that identifies an electronic module, requests information from a server about at least physical locations of some components in the module, renders an image based on the received information, and scales the image for display on the electronic module. The projection element is configured to display the scaled image on the electronic module after the module is withdrawn from the enclosure.

An apparatus for aligning a rail in a computer server rack has a laser transmitter for generating a laser dot. The apparatus has a prism for converting the laser dot into a laser line. The apparatus has a laser lens for projecting the laser line. The apparatus has an elongated bar for positioning the apparatus on a rack post, such that the laser line is projected perpendicular to the rack post.
