A surface contact card holder includes a housing and a tray assembly. The housing includes a receiving frame and defining a receiving hole. The tray assembly includes a tray and a cover. The tray is slidable and receivable in the receiving frame from the receiving hole, the tray is configured for carrying a surface contact card therein. The cover is pivotally attached to the tray and covering the receiving hole. The cover includes a first end and a second end. When the first end of the cover is pressed to pivot the cover, the second end of the cover moves out of the receiving hole, the tray is slid out of the receiving frame to allow insertion and removal of the surface contact card from the housing.

A securing structure includes a housing, and a securing member. The housing defines a receiving space and includes a base at end of the housing adjacent to the receiving space. The base includes at least one latching patch secured on the base. The securing member includes a latching portion and at least one resisting portion extended from one side of the latching portion. The latching portion detachably engages with the at least one latching patch with an end of the at least one latching patch pressing the resisting portion toward the receiving space.

A portable electronic device includes a housing defining an opening and a chip card ejecting mechanism. The chip card ejecting mechanism includes a pin slidably retained to the cover, a hinged carrier retained to the housing, and a spring. The hinge carrier includes a biasing plate resisting the cover, and the hinge includes a latching block and a resisting block. The latching block is latched with the hook to hold the cover in the opening. Depressing the pin against spring pressure exposes the chip card for easy removal.

A battery cover latching mechanism includes a housing member, a cover, and a latching assembly. The cover is detachably assembled to the housing member, and the latching assembly is mounted on the housing member and the cover. The cover includes two positioning blocks, and the latching assembly defines two latching holes located at opposite sides of the latching assembly. The positioning blocks are received within or removed out from the latching holes to lock or unlock the cover, respectively. Thus, the battery cover latching mechanism has simple structure and is easy to operate.
