A system includes an implantable medical device configured to sense a sync signal and sense physiological parameters to obtain a physiological signal. In response to sensing the sync signal, the implantable medical device is configured to generate a sync-stamped physiological signal. In certain embodiments, a method includes receiving a first physiological signal coupled with a sync signal; receiving a second physiological signal coupled with the sync signal; and, using the sync signal, synchronizing in time the first and second physiological signals.

Syncing multiple sources of physiological data

A system for lead integrity monitoring includes an implantable medical device (IMD) having a housing enclosing a control circuit; and a lead, having a first sensor. The lead is coupled to the housing and electrically coupled to the control circuit. The system also includes at least one processing device configured to identify a first lead failure alert based on a first set of information; obtain a second set of information generated by a second sensor; perform an evaluation of the first set of information in the context of the second set of information; and confirm or cancel the first lead failure alert based on the evaluation.

Lead integrity monitoring

Embodiments of the disclosure include systems and methods for obtaining high-resolution data from implantable medical devices (IMDs) by triggering a limited-time system behavior change. For example, embodiments include utilizing study prescriptions for batching data obtained by an IMD, communicating the batched data to an external device, and reconstructing the batched data at the external device. Study prescriptions refer to sets of instructions, conditions, protocols, and/or the like, that specify one or more of an information gathering scheme and a communication scheme, and may be configured, for example, to obtain information at a resolution sufficient for performing a certain analysis (e.g., associated with a diagnostic model), while managing the resulting impact to device longevity and/or performance.

Obtaining high-resolution information from an implantable medical device

Physiological data is generated from signals received from one or more leads associated with the IMD. The physiological data is sampled to generate a plurality of data samples. A predictive encoding algorithm is applied to the plurality of data samples to generate a plurality of encoded data samples each corresponding to one of the plurality of data samples. An entropy encoding algorithm is then applied to the plurality of encoded data samples to generate a plurality of code words each corresponding to one of the plurality of encoded data samples. The code words are then stored in a memory in the IMD.

Implantable medical device diagnostic data acquisition and storage

A method carried out by a therapeutic implantable medical device includes detecting a plurality of physiologic episodes and recording a set of diagnostic data associated with the plurality of physiological episodes. The plurality of physiologic episodes are prioritized based on episode types associated with the physiologic episodes. The diagnostic data is analyzed based on a minimum and maximum number associated with each episode type relating to a minimum and maximum number of sets of diagnostic data to be recorded for the associated episode type. The recorded set of diagnostic data is deleted only if a later recorded set of diagnostic data is associated with a detected physiologic episode having an episode type of a higher priority, and deletion of the set of diagnostic data would not result in fewer sets of diagnostic data than the minimum number specified for the episode type associated with the set of diagnostic data.

A method carried out by a therapeutic implantable medical device includes detecting a plurality of physiologic episodes of interest, recording a single set of diagnostic data indicative of physiologic activity, determining that the single set of diagnostic data corresponds in time with at least two physiologic episodes, and associating the single set of diagnostic data with the least two of the plurality of physiologic episodes. As such, requests for diagnostic data associated with any of the at least two of the plurality of physiologic episodes are satisfied with diagnostic data from the single set of recorded diagnostic data.
