A method and apparatus for assigning and associating devices using a particular talkgroup to a particular network slice is provided herein. During operation talkgroups within a communication system will be assigned to particular network slices. Some network slices may have a single talkgroup assigned to them, and other network slices may have multiple talkgroups assigned to them. During operation, communication-system infrastructure will conduct all communications for a group of devices over a particular talkgroup via a particular network slice.

A witness selection of an attribute is received from the presented attributes. Images of individuals who were at an incident scene at a time of the incident are received and analyzed to determine images of those individuals with attributes similar to the attribute selected by the witness. The images of those individuals with the attributes similar to the attribute selected by the witness are processed by redacting information from the images to produce a plurality of processed images. The witness is then presented with the plurality of processed images.

A method and apparatus for recommending that a user dial an emergency number to report an incident is provided herein. During operation, a user submits anonymous information about an incident to a tipping server. The tipping server determines if the incident that the user is reporting is unreported to an emergency number. If the incident remains unreported to an emergency number, the user is provided a suggestion to call an emergency number to report the incident.
