A compound having the structure of general formula I is useful as a liquid crystal composition and as a photoelectric display device including the liquid crystal composition. The compound having the structure of general formula I is chemically and physically stable, and has higher clearing point, and both large dielectric anisotropy and large optical anisotropy at the same time. The compound having the structure of general formula I is well compatible with other liquid crystal compounds when applied in a liquid crystal composition, the composition has good stability especially in a low-temperature environment, the characteristic of fast response and a wide range of applicabilities, especially applicable to the IPS-type and TN-TFT-type liquid crystal display devices. 

Compound, liquid crystal composition and photoelectric display device thereof

A liquid crystal display device, being widely used in the fields such as electronic tags, electronic papers, business cards and flexible display screens or the like, and a driving method for the liquid crystal display device. The liquid crystal display device has an upper substrate, a lower substrate and one or more layers of an encapsulated liquid crystal sandwiched between the upper substrate and the lower substrate. The layers of the encapsulated liquid crystal include two different liquid crystal microcapsules uniformly mixed. Combined with a driving method of a combination of high-low voltage and high-low temperature, a color display effect of high contrast and repeatable writing can be achieved.

Provided are a stable alignment type liquid crystal composition and use thereof. The liquid crystal composition has negative dielectric anisotropy, better stability and a large absolute value of dielectric anisotropy. The liquid crystal composition comprises a compound of general formula (I) accounting for 10%-80% of the total weight of the liquid crystal composition, a compound of general formula (II) accounting for 0.0005%-0.5% of the total weight of the liquid crystal composition, a compound of general formula (IV) accounting for 15%-90% of the total weight of the liquid crystal composition, and a polymerizable compound accounting for 0.1%-5% of the total weight of the liquid crystal composition. The liquid crystal composition is less subject to interference of such factors as radicals, oxygen, heat or the like. Also provided is the use of the liquid crystal composition in a liquid crystal display device.

Polymer stable alignment type liquid crystal composition and use thereof

A dichromatic dye composition which has the characteristics of higher order parameter and good miscibility can be applied in a guest-host liquid crystal composition. A liquid crystal element with the guest-host liquid crystal composition provides a high-contrast display. A liquid crystal display device has the guest-host liquid crystal composition with the dichromatic dye composition.

A triphenylene derivative of general formula (I) or general formula (II) which can be used as a component of liquid crystal medium and the use thereof are provided in the present invention. This compound can be used to form a negative discotic liquid crystal composition having a suitable temperature range of liquid crystal phase and a lower clearing point, which can be used in TFT liquid crystal display as an optical compensation film (cell) material.
