A bidirectional mapping is established between network content and application programs, based on declarations at both the network content and at the application. Additionally, bidirectional mapping can provide for deep links, which can associate specific network content with a specific presentation of data in an application program. The identification format for such deep links can conform to a predetermined standard or it can be custom implemented according to a format declared either as part of the network content or the application program. The bidirectional mapping is then utilized by a lookup service to provide functionality to a third-party entity. The lookup service can identify, to the entity, application programs associated with network content specified by that entity and network content associated with application programs specified by that entity.

Among other things, one or more techniques and/or systems for facilitating task completion through inter-application communication and/or for registering a target application for contextually aware task execution are provided. That is, a current application may display content comprising an entity (e.g., a mapping application may display a restaurant entity). One or more actions capable of being performed on the entity may be exposed (e.g., a reserve table action). Responsive to selection of an action, one or more target applications capable of performing the action on the entity may be presented. Responsive to selection of a target application, contextual information for the entity and/or the action may be passed to the target application so that the target application may be launched in a contextually relevant state to facilitate completion of a task. For example, a dinning application may be launched to a table reservation form for the restaurant entity.

Task completion through inter-application communication

Methods, computer systems, and computer-storage media are provided for augmenting Web-based search results with relevant content received from third-party applications. Each of a plurality of third-party applications is registered to obtain an indication of entity types associated with the each registered third-party application. A user input including at least a search query is received. The search query is communicated to those third-party applications that are identified as being relevant to the search query. Search results that are relevant to the user input are received from the relevant third-party applications and are presented on a results page.

Augmenting search results with relevant third-party application content

Among other things, one or more techniques and/or systems are provided for facilitating the completion of a user task. That is, user intent (e.g., intentions of a user to perform a user task) may be identified. The user intent may comprise an entity (e.g., a movie entity) and/or an action (e.g., an order movie tickets action) that the user wants to perform on the entity. A provider list may be created based upon one or more providers capable of performing the action on the entity (e.g., a movie application may be capable of performing the order movie tickets action on the movie entity). Providers may be dynamically selected for inclusion within the provider list at run-time. For example, an open market of providers may be maintained (e.g., providers may be added, removed, and/or updated over time), such that providers may be selected from the open market to complete user tasks.

A platform for customized rendering of markup language (ML) documents into a document in a device specific language that is subsequently provided for display by a target remote device. A rendering context for the target remote device and an ML document is received by the platform, which performs processes that can paginate and fully render pages that are subsequently delivered for display by the target remote device. A post-rendering process may also be provided to perform additional processing of media items for the device specific language document. This additional processing may include including links to or embedding media items in pages of the device specific language document. The remote device can be arranged as a client device that provides for wired and/or wireless communication over a network.

The claimed subject matter provides a method for securing a partner service. The method can include receiving a request, wherein the request comprises a unique value, to access the partner service, wherein the request is received from a browser client for a partner application and determining that a user is authorized to access the partner application, the partner application generating a token that associates the user with the partner application. The method can also include generating a signature for the token, the signature to enable the partner service to independently regenerate the signature, the token comprising an identifier for the partner application enabling the partner service to detect which partner application generates the token and sending the token with the signature to the browser client.

A device, system, and method are directed towards facilitating monetization of mobile devices. A click action server determines click actions that are to be sent to a client device based on one or more factors. The click actions are sent to the client device as links. An action handler receives requests indicating a selected action, and facilitates the performance of the action.

Methods, computer systems, and computer-storage media are provided for augmenting Web-based search results with relevant content received from third-party applications. Each of a plurality of third-party applications is registered to obtain an indication of entity types associated with the each registered third-party application. An annotated search query is received that includes the original inputted search query and at least an entity type associated with the search query. The annotated search query is communicated to those third-party applications having an indicated entity type that matches the entity type associated with the inputted search query. Search results that are relevant to the annotated search query are received from the applications and presented on a results page.

Providing context to a target minimizes the amount of information that a user must input. Context transfer pages receive context and reformat for the target. Selection of links to such pages provide context which is then reformatted and provided to the target to pre-populate information for the user. A return link can be specified to enable the target to return further context upon user interaction completion. The return link can specify further context transfer pages which can use the returned context to direct the performance of convenience actions, including invoking other applications on the user's computing device and entering information into them. The context transfer pages can themselves collect information from the user to provide appropriate interfaces without requiring resource investment from the target.

Automated target specific format conversion of context information from a user query

A suggestive mapping device may predict, suggest, and/or provide potential destinations to a user. Additionally, the device may store historical location data of the user, determine a travel vector of the user, and predict the destination of the user based at least in part on the historical location data and/or the travel vector. Further, the device may provide hands-free maps to destinations when the user does not know the address at least by receiving contextual data of the user and/or contextual data of the user's contacts. Such hands-free, suggestive mapping devices may facilitate more effective navigation.
